It is illegal in the state of NH if you do not have eye protection on!

Well... I mentioned the visor up thing, because I'm sure some folks have put it up because of fogging, or it's hot, etc.

I ride with it down, though I crack it open at stoplight sometimes. But when I'm in motion, it's down.

I always wear glasses under my helmet to prevent that kind of situation. You have to make sure you get shatterproof lenses though.

I've gotten a ticket for it! I was rolling away from a stoplight on South Willow St and didn't get it down quick enough for the fine officer's liking...

yea i've gotten shit for it in manch before....but never actually gotten a ticket.

we went out riding for the day and i had a dark shield on, ended up staying out way later than planned and didn't feel 100% safe w/ the dark smoke shield at night so i had it like half open so i could see a little better but still block as much wind as i could

I have gotten a ticket for it before in Goffstown and now I always wear either tinted or clear lense saftey glasses under. I hate having my shield down.

I've been smashed in the face with some pretty big sh@t before, and never once have I ever come close to wrecking. Pulled over to clean my face off....yes. Wreck my bike...No.

Glasses are not enough unless they're specially designed to keep stuff out of your eyes.

I get gnats in my eyes all the time bicycling, usually they die instantly and you blink them out, I usually don't have to pull over.

But a few weeks ago I got a bigger one in my eye, it didn't die. Fuckin weird feeling, you can feel the sucker squirming around, pretty scratchy. I pulled over FAST.

One of these days I'll get some proper glasses for cycling...

I usually just wear a pair of Oakley ProFrames under my helmet. You can swap lenses on those, so I bring a dark lens for sunlight and a clear pair for night time.
