    built-in back protector question

Say you have a jacket or 1-piece leathers with a built-in 'back protector' aka cheap foam pad that came with the gear and you own an actual hard back protector. Do you leave the foam pad in or take it out? Does having both offer more protection? Or is it more of a hindrance in terms of mobility?

I do not know the correct answer, but if it was me I would take it out. I have a feeling the real back protector was designed to be the only back protector.

I took mine out. It gives a little more room.

If it's removable, they probably sell the hard plastic insert for it. Not that I'd wear both, but you might want to consider swapping it out for your street riding.
