    Non-bulky alternative to the Chatterbox.

SCALA RIDER | CARDO SYSTEMS INC.

It's a bluetooth headset that connects to your phone or other scala rider devices within a certain range. Depending on which model you get it can also connect to your GPS, your MP3 player and a couple versions even have FM radios w/ 6 pre-sets.

I called TLRMan one day & when he answered it sounded like he was in his car on the highway... just a little bit of road noise..... when I asked him if he was driving he said "Naw, I'm on the bike doin 75 on the highway"

So far, this website - LXtronics.com - Search - has proved to be THE CHEAPEST place to find it online. I just emailed them asking about the Q2 multi-set that's on backorder. SOOOOO hoping to get a pair.

Nice find. I am going to be checking out their site now... The chatterbox was tempting but trying to find a place to mount the control unit has prevented me from getting one. This is much cleaner and compact it looks like.

Re: Alas, a non-bulky alternative to the Chatterbox.

I have one, not hugely impressed to be honest. I have the Q2 set, bluetooth, and while apparently my audio level is fine, I cant get the BT incoming audio to anything like a decently audible level.
Plus, after the last use, the mic seems not to be responding at all - emails to Scala have gone unanswered.

When its worked - it's *great*, and yes, friends have found it impossible to tell I'm riding. I mainly bought it for the bike-to-bike capability, yet to be tested, but with the problems with its BT audio levels, not too sure.

IMO, would work a damn sight better if it had a standard earphone jack instead of the helmet speakers.

Are you talking about the new Chatterbox XBi?

It actually looks smaller than the scala and they have more history making comms.

Why would I want to answer phone calls while on my bike? Thats my alone time.

Dollah, I can't help it if I have friends I ACTUALLY wanna talk to

Seriously though, I'm not getting this because I hate missing calls while on the bike or anything, this is more for the FM radio, MP3 connection, GPS connection & rider-to-rider/passenger intercom than anything else. The fact that I can make/receive calls is just one more benefit.

    Pete ,
Moto Market is now going to stock those .
I had the chance to use them a week ago ,,,,,, as long as the two bikes are no more than 4/5 bike lengths apart they are great !

We were on a short winding road heading to dinner , and I lost sight , as well as being able to communicate .

They are a small and light unit .

the Blue tooth for the phone sounds interesting ......... but .......

I don't think I will check it out, based solely on your grammar, or lack of it :

not as bulky as chatterbox, but still a noisemaker attached to the outside of your helmet

    great if your a slowpoke

can you still get music quality sound @ 90mph ? or higher. voice at high speeds, can you understand your bike to bike @ 120 over the noisemaker attached to your helmet?

don't waste your money, save your pennies for an Autocom, sure you got a cord going to your helmet, but no noisemakers on the outside, guaranteed sound quality at any speed
