My wife is looking for a bike... She's a relatively novice rider, so no supersports, etc. She has a thing for naked sport bikes. I just thought I would put it out there in case anyone comes across any good deals, or to see if anyone has anything they have been thinking about selling... Thanks!
1000 too big I take it?

Absolutely hands down go for a Ducati Monster 620. I bought my wife one over the winter. She's never even thrown a leg over a bike before and has had absolutely no trouble on it so far...(Knock on wood). Plus, it's fun as hell for you to ride when she's not on it. I love taking it out when she's not home... By far the most comfortable and easy to ride motorcycle I've ridden in 18 years of riding.
My 2 cents

SV650. As awesome as the M620 is, you'll be able to score an SV for way less, and spend less maintaining it.
The SV is really a phenomenal bike, and I'm not just saying it because I ride one![]()
I don't know why everyone thinks the Monster is so expensive?? It's really not and you can pick up a 620 for the same price and allot of times, less than the SV. Do some research. The only caveat to that is probably the maintenance costs however you could justify that by; You'd probably get rid of the SV sooner than you would the Monster. I don't think someone would be as quick to upgrade from the Duc as they would another Japanese entry level bike.
Again, my 2 cents.

Thanks for all the input everyone. She LOVES the Ducs... we have just had a hard time finding a decent used one. She's also been looking at the SVs, and has been looking for the old Honda Hornets. Mustang, I'll show her pics of your bike (the FZ)... she may be very interested...

Here's to resurrecting old threads....Just wanted to say thanks for the input again, 'cause we should be picking up the wife's new 620 this weekend. I think I'm as excited as she is.
Congrats!! An M620 was my first bike for the same reasons you mentioned . . . I loved it then, and still do. She'll have a blast!

Thanks. The only bummer is that I can't go pick it up this weekend. Oh well. I guess one more week won't kill us... At least I'll be able to spend the weekend on the 675.![]()
monster 696 or 620...
