July 4th, I have the evening off from work and if the weather holds I'm going for a rip on the bike.
I'm looking for ribs.
I have tried the ones from the blue bus in Putney, meh.
Any suggestions and BTW, where's the party at?It's my first 4th of July in America.
Tanks!
I'm suprised you didn't like what ol Curtis was cooking up.
Love that place
I've been to Curtis' twice and both times was disappointed. Dry meat and not much flavor. My current fave is Waterbury Wings in the center of Waterbury. Reminds me of home in NC.
I know it's not a ride but...
Stop at Lisai's and pick up some marinated steak tips and BBQ them yourself!
Will not find any better... IMHO.
P.S. PM sent.

July 26-27, Harpoon Brewery in Winsor hosts the annual New England BBQ championships. They have 42 teams and most sell both days. I know it is not this Friday but well worth the trip for some great BBQ.
It looks like meat is back on the menu with all these choices.
I have been informed about Lisa's yummy steak tips and will have to "walk" up the street and get a bunch for the BBQ at home, thanks Jank.
Muddyblonde, exactly how I felt about that famous bus, dry especially the chicken my wife and I tried to share.
42 BBQ teams in one spot, now that sounds like a good idea.
Thanks for the suggestions.
You can try the Sunset Grill in Stowe.
They have all the different meats and chicken B-B-Q ed up.
Wouldn't call it awesome but fairly decent.

Agreed, Curtis BBQ is too dry, especially the chicken.
I've heard good things about the Top of the Hill Grill in Brattleboro:
Top Of The Hill Grill - Brattleboro Vermont's Award Winning Grill & Barbeque, Located on Putney Road
Never been there though.
And if you're up for trekking all the way to Burlington, Big Fatty's is very tasty.

be careful out there man. tons of people who have been drinking all day will be out on the roads.
that Harpoon Brew BBQ sounds like a good time. I might just have to head up there for that. Maybe get a ride together??

The little woman and I are off on July 4th and will be riding Central and Northern Vt.
Doing our own B-B-Q and I have a pretty big box of Fireworks to shoot off.
Just the 2 of us so far so anyone who wants to ride and then eat and do fireworks is more than welcome to join us.
TIMMYDUCK
I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

Yeah, that was me.
He's my brother in law down from Newport VT on his way to Cape Cod with the misses.
He somehow got my wife's advanced permission to let me out of the shop yesterday afternoon for a bike ride to Greenfield NH as he is buying a fancy shmancy wood stove for the house.
We had a great ride even with one wheel too many between two bikes.
Where did you spot us? I waved to about 20 bikes in total along the way.
I work in Greenfield and saw you guys on my way home to Peterborough.
I had the car though.
Sorry, no "wave" for you.
