hey all. this is turning out really uncool. i ordered tires from South Shore Motorsports and wanted to get them installed, but they said "they dont work on bikes older than 10 years." My bike is an 89 fzr600.
i live in chinatown boston, work in beverly, and will be using my friend's garage in quincy.
is there anyone around who is willing to lend me their stands for a few days? even for a small fee is fine? my bike does not have spools.
i plan to jack up my rear with a car jack and hold it in place with cinder blocks! so maybe just a front stand? let me know.

Unless installation was included in the tire purchase, take your shit up to Jim Pidgeon in Manchester NH. Sticky atop the General forum...I'm not sure he ever works on anything NEWER than 10 years...
Ahh, too bad ya don't have spools, I have a spool rear![]()

Have someone follow you up with the tires and let Jim take care of the rest.
And if you want you can play the Jim drinking game. Bring a bottle of booze and take a swig every time he says the word Fuck.
yeah, just make sure you aren't the one riding the bike home.![]()
why not? dont tell me you're afraid to ride on new rubberOriginally posted by bump909

I think Jon was implying that after playing the Jim drinking game, you get royally shithoused.
You dont need spools to use a spool stand, go to the hardware store and get some 8mm bolts, they will work. Good luck!
