Cannonball kickoff?

I have tomorrow (Friday) free and was thinking about riding to Portland to check out the Cannonball activities. Anybody know what's going on, and where? I know the actual start is Saturday, but I was hoping to check out some bikes and riders on Friday. Any experiences?

Hats off to the riders for a cross country slog at this at this time of the year. I just flew in from South Dakota and while it was still warm enough walking around some riders passing through said it snowed in the park outside Kalispell, MT. Bring the warm clothes!
