haha- Good to know you made it home safe Jeff, good meeting you today.
I didn't realize who's bike we were picking up until I saw the name on the mailbox, then i was like "shit, I know this kid!!"
he pulled up 2 seconds later and sure enough it was Mike.
All in all a good day. Good luck with the bike Jeff, let me know when you get licensed and I'll take a ride out west w/ you.
Well, I put up that post asking for help with picking up a bike down in RI this weekend, and I got a PM from Mike (mcbgti) offering his assistance. I (rightfully) didnt trust my work van to make the whole trip, and just to prove my point, the damn thing died on Thursday! That was fixed though. So I drove my van down to Mikes near Southbridge, MA and we rode the rest of the way from there in his truck to Johnston, RI where we picked up the bike without a hitch. Thanks to Mike Zinni, threw in a ton of extra stuff, had the bills of sale to fill out, signed over the title, and off we went.
Mike B. allowed use of his tie-downs and ramps and we got the bike back to his place, off his truck, and we managed to shoehorn it into my van. It was only about 120* in my van, but after much blood, sweat, and tears (caused by the sweat burning our eyes) and trying to get my new tie-downs to work, got it strapped in and off I went. A huge thanks to him for driving me down there and picking up the bike, I still owe him gas money.
So I'm now the proud owner of a brand new (to me) 95 FZR 600!! And like I figured, someone on the forum would be generous enough to help me out, and I really appreciate it. Turns out the 2 knew each other from a track day or two anyways, though they didnt know they knew each other till they met.![]()

awesome. congrats on the bike. Glad to see everything worked out for ya
Bras cause cancer.
And then to top it all off yesterday, I got home, showered up, checked some stuff online, then headed on down south to MissTwisties after-ride BBQ. Had some good food, had a good time meeting everyone and enjoyed myself. Overall, I had a really good day.![]()
so Zin finally sold the bike. Congrats to both of you
I got it unloaded today, and rode my first motorcycle ever! I let the clutch out, kept my feet down and rode maybe 150ft at like 5 mph. Then I even managed to turn it around without tipping over. lol I was such a squid, shorts, tshirt and no helmet. Then I promptly rolled it into the storage unit (parents arent a huge fan of me having it) locked it up, and drove off into the.....sunrise?
Felt awesome, even just rolling along at a few miles an hour scuffing my feet. Once you get it moving, they no longer feel so terribly top-heavy.
Now off to register it, get some plates, and get my permit.![]()
awesome man. got pics?
congrats Jeff,
soon enough you'll be out on the road.
The MSF courses fill up very quickly so register ASAP.
Jeff, great meeting you man! Best of luck with the bike, I know she'll be good to you. Get that MSF class under your belt, and you'll be all setup on 2 wheels...
Mike, awesome surprise pulling up and seeing a familiar face. Great talking with you. Keep the rubber side down on the track buddy...
So, looks like I gotta change my username, huh?
PS: Is it wierd to see your father's garage in another person's avatar?![]()
