i recently took off the stock exhaust on my 06 gixxer6... the thing is that the exhqust is now just headers but is pointing right at my back tire...i know most people still route the exhaust to the side but would it be ok if i just left it open after the SET valve and dumping all the exhaust on my back tire? what im worried about is maybe the tire getting slowly coated and eventually getting slippery?
so wat do you guys think... is it ok as it is or could there be a problem (other than the noise level being too high)

you'll need to remap your PCIII. since there's nothing avail for open headers, you're gonna have to pay a dyno shop to make a custom map for you too.
i think your back tire will be the least of your concerns with the noise, back pressure, and fuel/air ratio
I think it's a gonna run like total shit. It needs the rest of the exhaust to provide some back pressure.
Put it back on, or buy a real exhaust.

after seeing this in your sigI would highly suggest going with something other than 2 Bros. The akrapovic systems on gixxers sound great. you'll get a better sound & performance out of it. every one of my friends that went cheap & bought a 2 Bro's slip on, ended up regretting it a year later.~SOON: Two Bros carbon fiber slip on
u really hate the stock exhaust that much? what's the point of taking it off if you're not putting something else on? weight savings? not to mention back pressure
oh cmon will it really... the reason i havent gotten a real exhaust yet is cuz i dont have the money, but i thought that while i get that id just have open headers rather then the shitty stock exhaust. tons of my friends have open headers on their bikes and catless exhausts on their cars, without tuning them.does the air/fuel ratio and no backpressure really matter that much, or will it just run worse than it would with a tune. i do t really care about engine performance and whether i have 10 hp moreor less, as long as the engine doesnt get ruined and shave off the bike's life.. so i shudnt worry about the back tire at all?
idk i think the two bros sounds the best... plus two bros is more expensive than akropovic

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I have an older 2 brothers CF on my RR (came with the bike) and i like the sound better than the Yoshi RS-5 I had on my last RR especially on the highway. the Yoshi was at just the right pitch that it really hurt my ears.
I think the 2 brothers sounds pretty sweet though (it has a deeper sound), just wish i had one of the better looking newer ones. NOT SAYING IT'S BETTER THAN ANY OTHER EXHAUST, JUST THAT IT SOUNDS NICE!!
Also, put your stock back on before you get your new pipe. this is the reason we all get stopped with our aftermarkets on because people ride without them period and it is really obnoxiously loud!

As noted the back tire is the least of your problems. You are dumping unburned hydrocarbons on your tire which is not a good thing, but worse your engine is being forced to run all wrong. Put your exhaust back on. You don't need to be loud and you will get less tickets that way. I learned the loud exhaust stuff the hard way. Tickets, from being noticed.
My ZX-14 has gone almost 20k with the stock exhaust. I have never been pulled over. Being quiet draws less attention.
If you need to be wide open make a side dump pipe. Then get the bike dynotuned with a PC

It will melt your tire on heavy power
You will have the advantage that everyone says
