I'd had my second V-Strom for three days when I took it down a dirt road out near Wachusett. It hadn't rained in nearly a week, but there were plenty of puddles on the trail.

So as I was thinking "Hmm, how can they hold water that long - must be a lot of clay underneath - clay is slippery as hell, better watch out for it - oh there's another puddle, better skirt it - ...."



However, I did a dynamite PLF and came to a stop standing up and didn't even get my jacket dirty!

Don't think I went through a single puddle. And I don't think I went over 8mph either for the rest of that road. Took me a while to slowly teeter and toddle my way around everything, but, prior to seeing that video, I could have told you how it was going to end :p
