OK, so I noticed in Dan K's post he has a nice old Honda. Anyone else here into older bikes? I know there must be more.
I have a couple - Honda 350f, cb125 and I just got an rd400 which is not yet ready to run. Lots of fun but more work than the modern bikes, just wondering who else shares my passion(disease??)...

what's considered vintage? technically the hawk's vintage and there's a few people on here riding them
Sure, the 'Hawks count but I was thinking a bit older - maybe late seventies at the newest. Here - how about this... it has to have points ignition

6 Fingered Man, who almost never posts on here anymore but is a regular on the Hawk forum, has a gaggle of the things. He's got one of the nicer CB750's you'll see, a few projects, and recently sold a beautiful CB160 & a CB350 that he did a full frame off restoration on. Man was that a beautiful bike... I really wanted it but needed something I could two-up on in the mountains and didn't think a 350 would have the nut.
Here's his 750 next to my 550.
The old 160 here, believe he sold it to Doc for some Hawk stuff.
Then there is the KZ, no idea the year or what he's doing with it.
And if we're counting Hawk's...
Possibly the coolest vintage he had was the CB350, but I don't know of any pics of it complete. This is how he got it
And these will give an idea how it ended when he got rid of it.
Maybe this thread will drag him back over here for a post or two... I know he's got other projects going as well.
and that was my 550 above.(Although I never rode it)

That 350 went to you?! before or after he did the frame off restoration? If after please tell me you have completed pics... I cant believe he sold it without taking any.

So does my 74 CB750 with the points system removed and the dynatek instead still count???
I also have another cb750, will be a "retro mod" race type deal hard to describe but Dan and some others have seen what is in store for it. Not sure if that counts as it will have modern bodywork on it
77 Yamaha, again no points system because its getting a single out of something made in the last 5 years, does that count?
ummm, I have a 79 kx750 that i think meets most of your requirements for vintage but not mine...
and my 80 gs850 lost you on the late 70's as well. So really no vintage bikes here any more...![]()
Couple of Triumph 650s, the stocker, a 1969, is on jackstands for front end overhaul (tubes, seals, steering bearings, powdercoat), and I just have to wire up the Frankenbike, 68-70-71 cafe-bobber thing. Pics to follow when done.

And don't believe everything you think.
In two years, you will see an 86 GSXR with "antique" plates circulating NHMS. It's still my daily driver. Yeah, I know it isn't late 70s, but with 89,000+ miles, it has probably done a lot more living than most late 70s vintage bikes actually on the road. So I think it deserves a mention.
{ Wee bit of a biased opinion, sorry.}
I am in the process of rebuilding a 1964 Ducati Monza Jr. Gotta love the old bevel engines. I picked this up on a lark and decided to make a fun project out of it. My current goal is to get it on the road for less than $1000 including the purchase price.
Hopefully have it roadworthy by next spring.

I have a 1976 GL1000
There will be a bunch of vintage bikes (pre 1969) at The Grand Summit Hotel, Mount Snow this weekend for the Motogiro USA http://www.motogiro-usa.com/. We start there in the morning, run a route through southern VT and northeast MA, and end there Saturday afternoon. Repeat on Sunday with a slightly shorter route. Right now, there are over 80 entries. Should be a good time! Stop on by if you are in the area.
You can take the girl outta Jersey.....

Bras cause cancer.
Here is my 1978 Honda CB-125. Picked it up off Craigslist last year for $125.
A really fun compliment to the Speed Triple.

Knobbies on a CB? Well, heck, if you aren't MXing the thing, and just plonking around on dirt roads, why not.
Cool!
Oh yeah, that would be VERY nice. A friend of mine's mom had an older CB125. I think it had a mechanical front disk, instead of a hydraulic disk. It was bone stock, but was a ton of fun. My friend, and his brother were both into trials riding,,,, on TL125s. Oh, the abuse that poor CB had to endure.
It was a sweet heart.
