Left Barre, Vt @ 3:30 am, mostly slabbed around and got home @ 8:00 pm. Rode my girlfriends ZRX as my tires were a bit tired and there was the chance of rain. 16.5 hours and averaged 64.5mph last (2) hours were in the rain, sometimes very heavy.
Here's what I learned:
1) Long distance riding is fucking boring and I won't do that again.
2) See #1
3) I'm a dumb-ass.

Beats my record. Furthest Ive ever ridden was 650 is miles. Went from boston to upstate new york, past fort ticonderoga, into vermont, and then through new hampshire to home.
I was DEAD after that ride and the last 100 miles I just wanted to be home. I dont know how you did 1000+ miles, craziness.
Did you document the ride? Could at least have gotten your Iron Butt certification out of it....

could have been worse, 700 miles of my first SS1000 were in the rain
my first expedition into long distance began at the Stonecrib at 1am, 1100 miles and 19 hours later Columbia, SC, then a few hours of sleep and another 575 miles I completed my BB1500, the first day an a half of a 10 day 6200 miles ride
boring, hell no, the other end of my ride was TWO on Suches, GA![]()

Easy riding on the ZRX.
I did have the Saddle Sore 1000 in mind but don't know if I'm going to submit or not, I've got all my receipts.....
Butt was fine, neck, fore arms, and back were a little sore.
