My mother works for an insurance agency in MA so I just double checked all my info.
Right now I'm paying $700ish a year for maxed out coverage on my '04 ZX-12R with a $500 deductable.
I got my class D and M learners permits in 1996. I got my class D license in 1997. Like a lot of people, I rode around on the motorcycle for a few years with just a permit. I don't really know why but that is how it went down. I ended up getting my motorcycle license in June of 1999 which makes my 6 year point for motorcycles June of 2005. My motorcycle policy renews in July so it looks like I just squeeked by!!!
She also said that new motorcycle policies in general seem to be lower this year than last for people with 6 or more years of experience.
Also found out that I'm at a step 9 too!
Try Rhode Island, my Busa was $3600! Clean driving record too.Originally posted by xxdcmast
Anyone who recently went to insure their bikes this season knows why. Like the state doesnt take enough money from us now there tacking more money onto our motorcycle insurance. I just got a quote for my 2005 gsxr 1000 and it was 2200 dollars.![]()

I was told my rates are going DOWN! I wonder if they'd consider a further rate decrease for those of us who've ridden more than 20 years.Although I have seen plenty of old timers whose riding sucks.
I just got my 2005 rates and they are HALF of what they were last year. I feel sorry for you sub-six year "newbies", but I'm pleased.
