Anyone own a ramp system like this?
It comes in 8 or 9 foot lengths, folds in half and is actually three ramps attatched together, but they can be taken apart for quads or left attatched for motorcycles.
I know 2 wood boards is an option, but I tend to wobble a bit...

If not this then any recommendations for something similar.
Im also looking for some type of front wheel holder. Prolly the one dereks got.

I have the "cheap atv ramps bolted together" and they work fine.

This is what I just picked up:
Truck Motorcycle Ramp
I've yet to try it out yet, but I liked the idea that the ramp was securely attached to the truck without all the weight being on the tailgate. I also liked that I could load the bike by myself if necessary...ride up, kickstand down, tie down. I couldn't do that with our rail trailer.

Yeah, $500 bucks but well worth it for me. With this I can go to track days without the husband because I ride it up the ramp without fear of it losing grip of the tailgate. Being able to load/unload the bike by myself means more track days I can attend. You guys don't know how lucky you are to have the upper body strength to more easily muscle motorcycles around on ramps/trailers.

you have clearly never seen my upper body.
when are you installing it?

get the one in the first link...the 2nd one doesn't look like it'll have much traction if you're riding up the ramp slowly and feathering the clutch
I think I have a grand total of $50 invested in my setup...
a couple of 2x8's from Home Depot, some heavy door hinges (so the two pieces can be quickly joined for the bike or seperated for moving stuff on a dolly), some parts from Ramp Arts (think I got them at Lowes) and some grip tape from the local skate shop. Works great.

I like that Black Widow ramp...nice to hvae the ability to walk up/down w/ the bike. The 4x4 version of the ramp is pretty long (104") which is not as steep as most ramps I've seen (~80")
If you're going to use the ramps alot, then $390 would be worth it IMO. Only problem is storing the ramps in your truck along w/ the bike/s. The tailgate models are ugly IMO.
The 2 single ramps work, but its still a bit sketchy and requires 1 or 2 other folks just to be on the safe side. I just bought a pair of aluminum folding arched ramps - very similiar to the side pieces of the black widow ramp. $170 at a local shop. Use a set of straps to cinch the ramps to the trailer hitch or bumper...that will prevent them from kicking out.
Sort of...
I have heavy duty hinges (door hinges) that I carriage-bolted through the two ramps to hold them together to make it 16 inches wide (wide enough). If I need to move a dolly or something that requires two planks I just pull the hinge pins and separate them. Putting the bike in the truck, I put the planks side by side, tie them to the receiver to keep it from skipping out and walk it up feathering the clutch. I use my MX bike's center stand as a step between the ground and the tailgate.
I'll be doing an install next weekend to be sure that all works well. The hitch part is extremely easy taking a minute or so but as the ramp is 120#, two people are needed to get it into the hitch.

If there is something in particular you are looking at with this ramp, let me know and I'll be sure to get a photo.
