I got a call from my preferred sport/race bike parts & apparel supplier who said he is changing his business model.
I have been purchasing parts from him since I bought my first 1000rr back in 2008 and not once was I disappointed with his pricing, shipping and personalized technical services.
He usually attends to hundreds of people and has become a sort of online reference. The thing is he wants to reduce his clientele to a select few recurring customers. I am flattered that I made it into his list.
Here is his the club racer proposal:
1. Each club is allowed to purchased any race product at distributor cost (plus of course shipping) - he generally sells quality race products ( performance parts; race suits, tires, tire warmers...you know the whole shebang).
2. Each club is allowed up to five member;
3. Each club member must register his/her bike with his business;
4. Membership cost is $500 a year per club ( I am pretty sure that he will prorate the 2013 fee) (at $500 a club and 5 members per club, that is like $100 per club member);
Now. I will eventually disclose his business number and website once I confirm that it is okay that I disclose the information on a public forum.
I am signing up. I need four more people to sign up with me. Please let me know if you are interested.
Best regards,
Eddie

One more thing: It is important that I highlight that it is expected that by signing up you are purchasing parts for the bike you registered with the plan (your bike). Otherwise, as my supplier put it he would think that he is being taken advantage of.
He did mention that he will probably run a business model for those who are interested in local distribution. That plan is not what I am interested in (at the moment anyway).
If only I had a bike that would work for... sigh.
No problem man.
Just so everyone knows: personally the only thing I have to gain is that if I get 4 more people to sign up with me the per person membership cost is reduced.
And to clarify I will send the shop's name via PM....but I have to keep that information confidential until I get an all clear to post that information on a public forum.
