ive been riding hard for since march. in the last couple weeks ive about given it up. in the spring when the season is new im itching to get out, at this point after 14,000 miles dont really have that itch as much. plus i need to get off my ass and mount up some new rubber
There was a confirmed hiviz Red hawk sighting in the northbound HOV lane at 0700
Thanks rossco im gonna look into them as well
Rode today!
My work commute is only 3 miles long, so I commute right through the year, as weather allows. I am not a fan of showing up at work wet, though. Nor am I a fan of getting on my bike at 6:30 AM, in 20 degree temps. Sometimes I drive in, in the morning, and go home for lunch to get my bike for the afternoon trip. Every once in a while, I even ride the KDX200 in, and take the trails home. I am a Maintenance Supervisor, at a Wire & Cable Manufacturer in Ware.
this thread has inspired me to buy a bunch more gear!
Until the roads are sanded. Even then I'll ride on days they're clear enough. I never stop!
Mmmm, rain gear.
I need to invest in better fall/spring boots.
In the 2.5years that I have been working in Boston, I took the T maybe for 2-3months (i.e. in Dec-Feb 2011)....love to ride to work ...nice way to start and end your day IMO...and also adds flexibility ...I can go/leave whenever I want!
This past Feb I bought a pair of heated gloves ...couldn't be happier...lets me ride throughout the non-snow-fall days.
There’s just engineering, skill, and luck.

Besides gear, what else is recommended to winterize your bike? Tire recommendations? Other mechanical things to think of?
Rode home in the rain tonight. Loved it.![]()

It's a 2006 Tomos Streetmate. Oil-injected, 2-speed auto, 50cc two-stroke. They still make them. Kind of looks like a BMW. The fuel tank is the frame, so what looks like a tank is a large compartment. I keep extra oil in there.
It was the only moped/scooter that doesn't make me look like I'm sitting on a toilet.

rode from work last night to a wake last in the rain. it was peaceful out. hell I hink the cages pull off the road when it rains out now. Oh Wait, just found them all on the highway all stacked up.
Had someone mention its slipery out there because of the rain. How the hell did he think I made it to the funeral home when it was pouring out. I told him that its nothing compared to snow on the roads.

I had fun giving the ABS fits over the manhole covers in the rain riding through town yesterday PM. The ABS works good.
The ride home wasn't too bad despite not having my rain gear ... I wasn't soaked and didn't need to rush in and change. My work boots were wet but my feet weren't. I am going to get new boots this weekend. Not sure what brand yet...
I'll be picking up some new Timberlands later this week myself. But then I am biased. You know Timberland world HQ is in Stratham, right?![]()
I really like it, and want to go out and find one for myself. It is not a Moped, though. Correct? I do not see any pedals. Is the pipe stock?
Yes. There is a store at the HQ. Although I am pretty sure the pricing is identical to the website.
There are outlet stores in Kittery and North Conway.
Sadly none of their stuff is US made. (What clothing is?!) So 'factory' anything is kind of a misnomer.
I just bought a pair of neoprene Muck boots, for yard work and ATV-ing. I don't know if they will work well for riding my motorcycles, as the toe section is a little bit big.
