Another vote for kicking the weatherman who said it would rain yesterday afternoon. I was a bit ticked when I walked out of the hospital at 5:30 and it was still dry. I did ride today, though - a little cold over 60mph, but very tolerable with no heated gear or even anything windproof.
Yuppers...although this weekend the fz will start its hibernation & The C10 will be back to "A" bike status....hard to beat a full fairing & tall screen in the months to come........
Twice this week I've spotted a guy north bound on Rt3 in MA on what I think is an 80's or 90's BMW wearing shorts and a salad bowl helmet. Nutzo on many, many levels.
34 for me....definetly used the toaster this morning![]()
Hard frost again this morning. Was behind a van that was blowing ice dust (I'm not going to say it) for a mile. Glad I took the truck. Did nearly 100 miles last night in the cold, so it didn't bother me to leave her home.

Attempted to do so this morning, but my gloves were not up to the task. I had to abort the attempt near the half-way mark and take the train in the rest of the way.
drove as well. but had to take the dogger into the kennel. that's my excuse. not the cold.
It was 33 when I left. heated grips and Tourmaster Leather gloves with Thinsulate, a balaclava and my liners zipped into my pants and jacket.
35 when i left this morning, my gerbings could not keep up with all the wind that was coming through my mesh jacket and i was FREEZING, an hour ride that cold is not fun..but im not giving up yet.
I rode in today. Full textile gear and underarmor. I wish I had my balaclava too, but it's only 4 miles.
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
This morning? No. After lunch? Yes!
Took the Explorer to work this morning. Heated seat, heated grips, heated liner, heated gloves, extended windshield, GPS (incase I get lost going to work)MP3's loaded on the Zumo bluetooth to Chatterbox, adaptive radar, cruise control, hand guards, fog lights. Salisbury to Boston, round trip 80 miles.

Took the bike to class tonight, it was a nice ride.
I've been traveling a bit and was dying to get back on the bike this morning. It was 32 when I left the house, and my commute is a 30 mile mix of interstate and blue highways. I had my textile gear with cold weather gloves. My thumbs got cold but that's about it. As it gets colder I can add glove liners, a neck 'sock', liners for my overpants, and electrics (jacket and gloves).
Tomorrow should be nicer, about 40 for the low tonight.

When I got to work, the first thing that was said to me was, "You have a car! Why the F did you ride today?!"
It's a motorcycle thing. You wouldn't understand.

I've been on and off commuting...when you work 12 hour shifts you can have awesome weather on one side of the day and junk on the other, so I play it cautious. I don't have TV so local weather is out and it drives me crazy that three different weather sites can on a daily basis have wildly divergent views on what the weather is going to be.
I like to say meteorologists and baseball players are the only people who can get it right just 1/3 of the time and still have hall of fame careers.

Gonna be on the Explorer again this morning.
37 this morning when I left the house. That was brisk, but at least I know I can go below 40.
I ride until it snows and then on cold days where there is no shit ( read slush ) on the roads...
