Actually, yes. I think I have the main design pretty much figured out. I just haven't found an easy source for an axle and wheels, yet. The rest is a piece of cake.Originally posted by HBerry
Anything become of this? You could make a little chunk of change off of people on the forum if you could make one of these. I'd be willing to be the guiene (sp) pig!
Would you want a one-rail or a two-rail version?

The more important question is can a 2.2L malibu haul two bikes, and if only one bike is on the trailer, being that it is so small and light, will the trailer flip over because of offcentered weight?

Yes, it should be able to. Two bikes only weigh around 1000lbs or so, and that's well within the limits of a class I hitch (1500lbs).Originally posted by HBerry

No, it shouldn't matter if you only have one bike versus two. But, I was going to provide for different rail configurations anyway so that if you wanted to go from two rails to one rail, it would be a simple affair moving a couple of bolts. Probably wouldn't take more than ten minutes or so.

Nichols, let me know what size axle and wheels you want. I have a distributor that stocks them.

Workload for sale. Job sale possibility. Caretaker needed for housework and entertaining kids. I need some time back.
A steady job and a family has ruined many a good biker.
Well in that case I'll take the two rail version!Originally posted by nichols

When I owned my welding and fabrication business I used to buy parts from Champion Trailer
Good prices and very helpful sales folk.
Dang! You got shocks, pegs... lucky! You ever take it off any sweet jumps?

To be honest, I've been a little preoccupied with getting the motor for my GSX built and into the car. Hit me offlist, and we can figure out a time schedule, materials list, etc, then go from there. I just need to carve out a free night or two, pick up some metal stock, coupler, and a few other little things, and hammer most of it out.
