Saturday's ride was not satisfying.
It was like 40F and overcast, windy, etc.. I started heading out on the backroads and was getting pretty cold. Then as I got to my favorite really twisty road, it started sprinkling. Seeing as it was freezing and I didn't have my rain jacket I turned around and got home as fast as I could. It never really started raining.
This morning made up for it though. It's nice today.
Anybody else ride to work today?
Ben
Well, I just got back from my ride I posted at 3pm, it was 43° when I left, I was wearing my eclipse vest but not turned on when I left, it certainly was turned on by the time I got back home at 9:15pm, the thermometer outside the door tells me its 18° out there, beautyful moonlit nite, not a cloud in the sky, stars were very bright. it did cool off quick when the sun went down.

Hmm... yeah. It was cold last night.
I only have a 12 mile commute. That's one of the reasons I'm still riding. But last night it wasn't just my hands getting cold. My chest and legs got cold too. It was probably the coldest I've ever gotten other than going skiing and getting a really nasty wind when you crest the top of the mountain on the lift.
I don't really want to shell out for more gear and I have no intention of riding when there is snow and ice so I'm going to be putting my bike away soon. I'm picking up the keys to my storage area this weekend.
Grr.. I'll be daydreaming about riding all winter though.
