I scan craigslist on the regular as I'm sure many of you do. Yesterday I found a 1992 Ducati 900 Supersport Anthracite not to far from work. I stopped by on the way home and it looked even better in person than in the pictures. SO I headed home got the trailer and snagged it up for asking price. I really have no idea what I'm getting into with a 20 year old Ducati, but, I'm willing to learn as I go.

Cool indeed.
Congrats! My father had a '93 that he couldn't part with for years, until he found an 851 recently. He loved that bike dearly, so I bet you're in for some fun
btw, that color is gorgeous!![]()

how would that thing do if you tracked it up against the newer 900cc bikes?
Please do not track it.
I had a 1992 750ss and 900ss. Pm me if you have questions.

Oh, a trackday wouldn't be bad.Making it your track bike would be.
The CR (1/4 fairing) versions of this bike are more rare than the Full faired. There is nothing special about the bike other than the color if it is stock (something tells me the tail pieces are not as there should be decals there).
900ss of this vintage sell for around $3500 or so. Being black it might be worth a little more, if it is a stock black and not a repainted red. What is the vin number?
If you paid what I think you did (Weymouth) you got a good deal.

Whuuut? This thread had nothing to do with 'stroms. Nor did I wish it to. Peace man!
I asked why it matters if this thing would be competitive at the track or not. Isn't 99.9% it just fer the funuvit?!
Or are we talking some sort of real racing? I thought we were talking 'track day'. I bet that thing would be a ton of fun at one of those track days.
Classic!
maxim, I'm the nxt town over, Mattapoisett. I know a little about Ducatis--maybe you can ride it by, I'd like to see it.
BTW- if you track it, please remove the bodywork. It's a CLASSIC!!
