I wouldn't trust my bike on that little transformer trailer. No way!

So with a little know-how, experience, a bunch of the right tools, and some material..........you could pretty much build one for alot "cheaper" (if you dont include the costs of said experience + tools).Originally posted by OreoGaborio

I've seen quite a few of those E30's with trailer hitches. You might seriously call a BMW dealer, they actually have decent prices on trailer hitches for their cars *some* of the time. I think the rig they sell at the dealer mounts on the front-most part of the rear bumper shocks, but I'm not sure.
Probably not all that much at all, really. I'll sketch up a design and figure it out. I bet the frame itself would be well under $100 for the steel. Then it's just a matter of tossing an axle under it and some lights on the back.Originally posted by HBerry

One bike or two?
As for the hitch, I've seen a LOT of E30s with hitches on them at track days when I go with the BMW clubs to Lime Rock and Loudon. It's not like you'd need a super industrial strength hitch. Even with two bikes, you're talking ~1200lbs MAX including the trailer.

I can't believe they are actually selling that for that kind of money...
