it's in excellent condition for the type of road it is, no base, no rocks removed, just a paved line of moguls

I rode past it yesterday and elected to ride past it![]()
thanks for the info !!!!
Rode it twice... didn't care for it either time.
It is what it is... if you're into that sort of thing...

ill take the majority.. not gonna bother !!!
maybe kangamanga FRi !!!!
The Kang is fun, Mt. Washington is nice... but go early to miss the traffic... not like you can go more than 35-40 on most of it, but it is fun.
Also... Bear Notch is great.

bear notch is off of kanga right ??
that road is awesome but it makes me nervous.. its tight and tough to see thru corners cuz of the trees..
how awesome would that road be if there were no trees. !!!
how about the other side of da kanga??

The Kank was gorgeous yesterday.. the Mount was closed due to snow. There was NO traffic on the kank.
It was also windy as a muthafukka and 48* at the high point 59* on either end.
what mountain was closed?? did u ride the kang yesterday?
holy shit thats cold !!! Lincoln claims it will be 66 tomorrow on weather.com.
not sure i can deal with riding under 60 degrees...
The Kancamagus Highway is definitely fun when the weather is good and there's no traffic. Trouble is that it's usually pretty crowded with tourists.
Hurricane Mountain Road is fun as hell if you like paved goat paths over mountains. Tight and technical; not a peg-scraping road, but lots of fun on a dual sport, motard, or ADV bike. Something with lots of suspension. Not the best road for a sportbike.

also.. aparently N.C is the place to be for roads...
i was lookin at google..
the TAIL and a half dozen other roads.. bike paradise !!
Mt Washington auto road was closed, high winds and snow! I did ride the Kank yesterday. Virtually no cars, good pavement, the leaves aren't in color yet. Tuesday or Wednesday ar my favorite week days to ride. ipu in 317 good miles yesterday. My only issue was wind, it was pretty brutal.
That's not surprising, Randy, considering it's the middle of winter.
One of these years, if we have a really dry winter and there's no snow on the road even up on the Kanc, I may join you for that ride. But it's far enough away that I haven't wanted to take the chance of snowy roads in past years. While I ride a fair amount in the winter, I tend to stick fairly close to home in case the conditions turn bad.

113 is repaved from the south gate to the old new pavement. so essentially about 1/3 of it, and all of the worst part.
rt 5/35 is also completely repaved from top to bottom

Yes. It gets a little fun by the lake but overall its sweepers. I think the speed limit is 45 or 50 so 10 over makes it a nice cruise. If you don't mind risks, I've done it at 80+ and had fun. You can make a nice little loop with 113. 113 is a good time but its narrow. Its like a lane and a half wide much like HMR.Originally Posted by caloots
Its also quite boring for the first 20 miles from the south and bumpy and bumpy in spots.
