+1 on paying a shop to do it. If the bike were an old junker or something then yeah, but not on a new(ish) sportbike.

In fact the reason why I'm not riding is because I made the mistake of having an amateur do a repair on my bike for a case of beer. It didn't work out, now I gotta pay to have a shop to do it after all.

Bottom line, if you want it done good, you'd best shell out the cash.

I mean a pro as to someone that is not me. I wouldn't try to do it myself. I know it's plastic, but I don't want to mess them up myself. I know I can take them to a shop & have them done.

You could try free-handing it with a Dremel

    Re: Crash Cage Installation/Help

If you really do need help, I have installed these cleanly and correctly. All I've ever owned were GSXR's 06/07 need to be cut no matter what. The method I use is using a short silver marker and putting it where the bolt hole is, then I lay the fairing over it and it pinpoints the center. Then I dremel it from the inside out and then lightly sand the sides, depending on the cage it shoul'dt be more than 1 3/4 inches/ish. Let me know if you want pics/details.

WTF...the company I got the cage from will only give me store credit...that blows. so, if anyone knows anyone that needs/wants a cage let me know. I wish I had known about the railz first. fook...
