Crash near me; sad in all respects...

R6 guy did himself in. STOLEN bike fleeing.

The dirt biker panicked and did himself in. Stolen bike fleeing.

    Sadly a common theme.

thoughts and prayers out to the families and friends to all involved.

Crash near me; sad in all respects...

I bought my SV from Plaistow the day after this happened. They were pretty tightlipped about it and you could tell that it really bugged them.

My opinion for what it is worth:

It was a thief, as I heard someone describe it to me yesterday in a conversation about this incident, Stupid is what Stupid does.

My take, Darwin is at work.

Now the black chevy dude, wonder if there are any additional charges because there was a death in the commission of a felony? Somebody is going to have a loooonng nightmare ...

As for the kids in Manchester, even though the circumstances were similar, they were just kids. It is a proven fact that they do not have common sense at that age and cannot appreciate the consequences of their actions according to the letter of the law.

Can't say I agree with that, my son has done some very stupid things as a teenager and I know he knew better. He is eighteen now and I am not bailing him out any more ... you do the crime, you do the time. That line is severed ... and for good!

I thought it said the MC was privately owned so if the price is inflated it might have been the owner's doing, e.g. cost of replacement would be 9k including mods, etc...?

What a tragedy on both counts...both so preventable with some common sense.

The Bike was recently traded in, and was out back awaiting an overall check-up before it would be sent to the floor with a for sale tag.

BTW, If you didn't already know... The thief took off without a helmet. A Major reason why he was killed in the incedent I imagine!

Supposably he was trying to get away too fast came apon an intersection a Honda Pilot was already in. The thief tried to manuever around the Pilot without any luck. The front end clipped the pilots front quarter/front bumper and stuck there while the rider was thrown 30+ feet to his death..
He was gone less than a minute, already hit 100mph only made it less than a mile on the stolen bike before the ride ended in tragidy.

RIP You stupid thief. I don't wish death on people, but there is nobody else to blame for his actions....

My simpathies go out to his family...

+1 with half squid, you try to go 100+ mp/h in a busy intersection after stealing a bike (that you obviously don;t have the skills to ride) and get yourself injured or in this case killed, all i have to feel bad for is the family and friends that now have to explain your stupid actions for the rest of their lives. i would probably feel bad if he was stealing bread to eat because he was starving and somehow got killed in the process but bottom line, a bike is a luxury not a necessity, if you want one, work for it and buy it like the rest of the world. i know people who have had way too much stolen from them in the past couple months and i think that if my friend caught who stole his stuff he wouldn't leave it to a car to do the criminals in...so any of you who even remotely think that the lady that got hit by a maniac on a STOLEN bike going 100+ in a 35 was at fault

That R6 that was stolen sounds like an inside job to me. He just got on the bike and took of. So he must have known the keys would be in it. It seems unlikely that he walked around the lot looking for a bike to steal. The mechanic that testroad the bike could have just called him after he road it and told him that he left the keys in it and where the bike would be.

I heard he sat on and tryed to get one of the racers bikes going but couldn't get it to go, so he then proceeded over to the R6. It fired right up and he sped off as fast as he could because the owner of the race bike and a employee of PMS ( hehe) Were starting to walk over to him to see what the fuck he was up too.. They were seconds too late...

BTW, This info came from an inside soarce... As far as the accident? Sounds to me speed was the majot fault! 100mph in a 35 zone and crossing through intersections that fast! Sounds pretty fucking stupid to me...

Reason number 1,324 why you should always let your bike warm up before riding at 100mph through intersections.

Kid was a dumbass. I feel no sympathy for him, just his friends and family.

Ive been to plenty of dealerships that leave the keys in the igniotion both inside and outside the building. It would be pretty easy to find one to ride off on

My friend was at the dealer yesterday, and he said that he saw the R6. He told me it is a heap of parts on a pallet, and that the bike looks like someone took a chainsaw to it and cut it up like a cake.

THe dealership has been tight lipped about the whole thing and even hid the bike behind a few trailers to keep it out of sight. Every day TV News crews and newspaper reporters were showing up taking pics nad asking all sorts of questions. They got sick of it fast and hid the bike. They now tell them the bike is in the police impound!

I'll ask my friend to snap a picture, but I don't think it's going to happen. Doesn't hurt to ask!

    Half Squid,

What is their rep as a dealer?

    As a Service Department?

Is it the Service Department where the racers work?

I bought my bike there cause I went to Best - Nashua three times and all they wanted to do was go a grand over MSRP ...

PowerSports gave me a VERY good deal on the SV and I rewarded them by getting most of my gear there.

It is a bit out of the way for me to get there, but if I am treated good, I don't mind giving them my warrantee work. I intend to do the basic and mod maintainence.

Overall, sales did not know much about bikes, finance knew their stuff, John in parts is patient and knew his stuff but very reluctant to do special orders. The only department I have not dealt with so far is service.

i have done most of my business with plaistow, my fiancee and i have both bought our bikes there as well as a couple friends that also bought brand new bikes from there, i lived in portsmouth and now in concord so there are definately closer dealerships that i use to buy bike cleaner and random stuff like that but if there is any service other than oil changes that i don;t feel like trying myself i will most definately drive the extra distance to go there, my friend goes there for anything for his honda too even though they are not a honda dealership just because they are so good, i strongly recomend them to all and also check out the second hand tool store next door while you wait, great specialty tools from snap-on, mac, mat-co, and many more at great prices. best of all worlds not to mention an adult video shop there too

I have gone to PPS many times and I agree that some of the sales people really don't know anything about motorcycles. The kid I was talking to (salesperson) said he had never ridden a bike before and really could not answer some basic questions I had about the Suzukis or Yamaha's. I wonder if that has any impact on their sales.

I know a few people over at plaistow and i would recommend anyone i know to buy a bike or parts from them. They are one of the most helpful dealerships ships around and take a lot of pride in there work. A trajedy like this should not give them a bad name. It was no fault on their part. Maybe the keys in the ignition was not a good idea but obviously the kid went there to steal a bike and he wasn't leaving untill he found one.
They also have some of the best employees there that are will to go the extra mile for their customers.
RIP to the thief and prayers for his family and friends

Yes, I was disappointed with my sales person. Maybe it is just me but I am very good at what I do and I am proud of my level of knowledge. When confronted with people who detach themselves from what their professional demands are for making a living, it kind of makes me stumble and say

I am glad to get positive feedback on their service department. Thanks for taking the time to post!

I kind of suspected they were good as there are racers there ... I don't know them but the racers that I do know are very passionate at what they do. THEY CARE!

I just wanted to confirm ... sorry about the threadjack.

BTW ... even if their sales force aren't that good, does not mean that they do not have good deals. I was willing to travel over 45 miles to get there and dicker.

Thomas said police are still investigating whether the man was wearing a helmet.
They don't know if he was wearing a helmet? I don't understand.

Either way, that sucks. Another fallen brother on the seacoast.
