New 2012 CBR 1000RR pictures and video

Saw a small article about this new CBR. A lot of pictures an a short video of the dash.

Apparently the engine will basically be the same but i think it looks MUCH better now !!

With all the hype of the bmw and kawi, you would think that it would have TC or something new with the engine. Im glad that they changed the front but sad over all. Very sad Honda.

From the looks of it, the chassis is the same. I'm a little disappointed that the tail section looks larger. IMO the 08 tail section looked beautiful. Here is a pic of my old 08 with a custom undertail:

Whats the engineering/purpose behind it?

As I remember, according to Honda the location of the exhaust on the 08 1000rr aids with the mass centralization and weight distribution.

I'm happy to see that they got rid of the "owl eyes" look in front and seemed to go back to a more 04-07 style of headlights.

Very true, weight savings involved aslo. The less travel the better. I am at a dissapointment they didn't do a new engine though.

I agree with you on that. The rest of the bike is almost painful to look at though (sorry) it's so ugly

IMO, in the past few years the Japanese bikes left something to wish for as far as designed is concerned. As far as current bikes are concerned the only design that I like a lot is that of the 2011 ZX10R.

I agree with you but the new zx10 tail looks like it doesn't match to the front.

I think the sexiest jap bike new to date is the R6 sadly enough, b/c it's so old now they need to change that one too !

Wow! I think it looks alot better than previous models. I think Blade is right, no more OWL look makes a big difference!

The cosmetic changes seem minor to me. I like the bigger intakes but not the headlights. The wheels look expensive. Are they really going to make production? Not sure why they would change the dash. The current one is great, minus th slack of a true fuel guage and gear indicator.

Who really knows about the engine though? Five years makes it seem a little long in the tooth to me. Either way, I'd have trouble supporting American Honda after its blatant disregard for its customers who have oil consumption issues.

isn't the exhaust valve also in the can?

Not sure why this model doesn't have C-ABS, seems if they were gonna leak a bunch of pics they do one of the upspec ones.
Not surprised they only did minor upgrades with how terrible the economy is. They (all of the major brands) were going too fast with new models anyway and it was driving the costs through the roof.

yep.
and as much as people love to yank that thing out by swapping out the system for an aftermarket, the valve helps broaden the power curve a good bit, so it is to me an ill advised move..

Since they're no longer using an undertail exhaust, they should put a little storage back under the rear seat. Loved how much space there was on my '01 gsxr 600. I could put all kinds of stuff in there!

that is one nice lookin tail (the bike I mean) but is that a track bike? no plate, no turn signals, very clean
