Seacoast, period.

More here.
Looks like Gido might be going to Cycles. I know Paul is there already (He left Eastern years ago)
I honestly don't think I'll be bringing my bikes there. Looks like Seacoast or Eric from Clubhouse will be getting my business. Eric is great but his shop is almost two hours away!

I was in there and had a p&s on a 1090 RR Brutale. I had a bad feeling and Gido was not in his usual high spirits. The next closest MV dealer was deep in NY 223 miles away. I left and bought a Tuono factory. would have loved the Brute but not to be this time. I'm glad i bailed.
You'll find all the usual Eastern faces at Cycles for a while. They'll be handling the Ducati service portion of Cycles.
Steve, Gido and Paul. The 3 of them are going hoping to maintain the awesome feel & service we were used to @ eastern. We all hope they succeed.
Cheers

I hope that's true. If a promise of those 3 working on my bike holds then it would be ok.

I'm going to miss riding over to Eastern on nice days to shoot the breeze with Gido.
The list of heinous shit I would rather do than buy a valve stem cap at Cycles128 is very very long.
Like, I'd rather walrus two mexican pimps with SARS than buy a valve stem cap at Cycles type shit.
The Eastern guys are stand-up guys. Let's hope they can rubb some of their decency off on that shit hole.

Bought my SV1K at best. Wasn't a great experience....not even a good one. But they were the only place that had the bike I wanted.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Well, Eastern's site is now down and you get an auto re-direct to the cycles 128 website (which has no information about ducati, etc.). I did find their "Featured Bike"...for Duc Dave...dubbed, the "Batman Bike."

I'm truly bummed... I bought my first new Ducati, a 750 Paso, from Steve in '86. At the time an 860GT was my main mode of transport. It was awesome to call a shop back then and say "round case, right hand shift" and the person actually knowing what you were talking about.... Gito helped me with a shifting issue on my 650 Elefant last year. I can't imagine brining the Elefant into Cycles 128 for any type of service. I hope Gito sets up a side business...
The Older I Get,
The Faster I Was...
I wanted to update everyone on the fact that Eastern Cycles is NOT CLOSED. It is fully operational, but has paired its fleet to MV and Moto Guzzi for the most part. I believe Gido is still doing work there on non-Ducati stuff...though not 100% sure.
The deal is that Gido went to Cycles as part of the franchise purchase. I know a lot of you are not fans of Cycles 128...I never was either...BUT...the deal is that Gido will be working on your Ducati. It's the same guy that you liked at Eastern is an fantastic mechanic. Yeah you deal with the Cycles 128 guys a bit, but you will still get the same quality work. For all of us who are friends with Gido and recognize him as a great guy, don't just walk away from HIM because he's at Cycles 128.
I understand that Cycles has dumped a lot of money into the Ducati venture. While I've never been a fan of them, I know that they are not ready to sit back and piss off all of the people who were loyal to Eastern and Gido. I just stopped up there to catch Gido and talked with the service manager. He more friendly than ever when he heard I owned a Ducati and knew Gido. Honestly, I think they want to carry whatever good will they can into this venture. Why wouldn't they, given that it's been a significant investment.
So...don't just walk away if you used to go to Eastern. Go to Cycles 128 and at least talk to Gido about things. There's no reason to just start going to Seacoast (good guys also) because Cycles is in the mix.

i just bought the first Ducati to be sold from Cycles 128.. it was a HORRIFIC experience!!! i went to pick it up. had a 3 pm appt to sign for it. when i got there they didnt even have my loan approval done yet ( i was approved but they screwed up the paperwork and had me down for a different bike all together) then we sign all the paperwork only to find out they didnt do it right AGAIN!!! then they FINALLY put the paperwork all together correctly and have issues getting the registration done correctly!! i was literally there for 3 AND A HALF HOURS walking around while they ran like idiots to fix their mistakes.. F'ing RIDICULOUS!!!! NEVER AGAIN EVVVVARRRR!!!!! i even jokingly said to the sales manager that i deserved a helmet for the trouble and he said " yeah that isn't going to happen.." WTF!

At about that point I would have said "if that's the attitude you're going to have, then fuck all of you, I'm taking my business elsewhere, fuck you VERY much." I HATE sales people who have attitudes -- guys (and girls), I'm here to spend a LOT of fucking money on something (in this case, probably 20-25% of their yearly pay), you might want to treat me that way.

BCM is dead and so is that way of doing business. Seacoast is a great dealership, but those of us who knew the old, pre-Leslie BCM era know that it will be near impossible to replace that combination of service, staff and skill. Their prices were more than fair too.
On the other side of the spectrum is the Cycles128 group of dealershits. NO THANKS. Bot my first bike from them in 1998 (well, Parkway, actually) and I will never, ever willingly walk into another one of their shops, let alone spend any money there.
And my 2c on Eastern, they sucked too. Randy was the guy who sold me my first brand new Ducati. He made himself available to answer all kinds of questions and was the perfect example of a no-pressure salesperson. After sale support was horrible. It started when my 1098 stranded me on the side of 128 with 12 miles on the odometer a week after I picked it up. Roadside had never been given my purchase info so I had to find $250 in cash to pay for my tow... Later when I asked Randy why the bike was stalling, he said to stop reading the online forms and ride it (WTF?!?!?). It wasn't until I contacted DNA directly that my warranty case got moving. The horizontal head seized and DNA said they never got that info from Eastern.
Screw those guys. Now that BCM is dead, I'm happy with the way Seacoast deals with me and my bike. Eastern never had a chance.
Nick .... Are you angry because it's tax season?! Get some sleep buddy!![]()

That might be part of it...
But still, Randy left me hanging. They had no parts in stock and their service department...if you can even call it that...couldn't answer any questions. Hell, they didn't even have a dyno. Randy told me they could road tune bikes and usually a dyno was unnecessary. Sez a lot right there.
I've had nothing but bad experiences at cycles. Sales floor, parts, or service. Not gonna get into it all but they just plain suck as a business. And I cannot believe the price tags they put on the dumped bikes out under their tent!
