    The bikes with right shift took a bit of time. I think the Jawa was most strange shifted with the kick starter.

    My '71 ACE100B was supposed to look like this:

    Mine was a tad bit rattier than that one though, in '78 or 79 I think it was. I'd snuck out of the house with a fist full of money ($103) to buy it from a friend's friend. The motor was in a cardboard box.

    It was mostly complete -- the chain guard was missing. I put the shocks in the optional "laid down" position, too. Wish I'd kept that POS now. Oh, and it had the cool, old school wiring of the spokes together and sheet metal screws for rim locks.

    me? i'll slip a clutch on ANY bike in second to get it goin' no problem, maybe it's just a tall gear. wouldn't YOU feel bad if i shifted into "3rd" at 50 only to find out later it was first?
    just sayin if you let "people" joy ride without telling them FIRST.
    ^ that's the reason i don't ride others peoples wheels and they don't ride mine unless they're friends, then i wouldn't take the chance of letting them get hurt and or break something/dump. tell them!!!
