I took the R6 out on Saturday, and after riding it last year and for some reason deciding I did not like that bike, I had an abrupt change of heart. That bike rocks.![]()
It was for sale, it is no longer. Since I have 7 trackdays paid for this season, it just makes sense to have a track bike so I don't have to track prep the RR every time.
Now....where do I get cheap race plastics or should I not bother and just tape and ride??
just ride the begeezus outta that thing!!!!
save your bucks for the poser bike.

A lot of times you can get rashed race plastics on the NESBA and WERA message boards for a couple hundo. You can get a brandy new set of race plastics for 450, and you don't need to have them painted. Run it in primer or rattlecan it.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Since you've got multiple bikes... it's probably not as big of a deal to get race plastics.
Tape it up and ride it.

Told ya soo!!!!!
Dont bother wasting $$ on race plastics. Unless you wan tto save what you have for the future sale of the R6, then you will not have to search out good plastics or pay for new ones!

If the OEM plastics are in mint condition, I'd go for some race plastics. It might work out if you ever decide to sell it.
I have an idea-- DON'T CRASH.![]()

I went through the same dilemma with my "new" 600rr.
I decided to risk it with the stock stuff. Thinking that if I crash, it will be cheaper to replace the stock stuff (assuming only parts are damaged)
I did put frame sliders and solid mount footpegs though.
And I also took off all street stuff (headlights, etc)

why solid mount footpegs? Cause they came with the rear sets? or some other reason?

Yes, they came with the rearsets, but I like solid.
They don't fold accidentally and they protect in a crash.
