Definitely #1. I had the same ones on my naked FZ. Also vote for the all black.

Were they rizoma? Why were they terrible? Shakey or just limited view?

They were Rizomas... and I recognized the "Rizoma" brand, as I've seen bikes that tout having Rizoma goodies.

They were really small, so the view was limited. Also, maybe due to their size, the vibrations were really pronounced. Construction/finish was top notch on the Rizomas though. Looked awesome. Maybe try the bigger mirror? (#1/#3).

I had CRG bar ends on my SV, and I liked those a lot more. I had the fold-able ones, and the left side one faired up really well to a stationary tip-over (wasn't damaged at all, really).

Now that I have the VFR, I think I'm actually going to keep the mirrors stock -- I forgot what it was like to look at my shoulders... but further more, not have to look down and away from the road so much to check my six. Maybe pick up some extenders at some point, but I digress.

    Word.

Welp.... looks like option 1 is getting an overwhelming number of votes.... Too bad those cost an extra 150 over the other options

I'd stick with the bar ends, but it just makes the bars so friggin wide and because they're wide already, they don't do well in a tip-over.... I know from experience

    Well... it IS your bike.

    Do you have the CRG's?

I had the ones that fold (I think called LS for Lane Split), when I had my tip-over (stationary), the mirror folded up and the mount actually took a brunt of the impact. Mirror didn't break at all. I would have been mad... CRG's are pricey.

Stock mirrors? Ya mean these antennas????

I never even had those. When I first got the bike it had Ducati mirrors on there, then I got the motrax bar ends seen in the original post.

    Ohh...

Well... this weekend I came by a Third Eye bicycle bar end mirror for $12... Had some ideas brewing in my head, but I'll probably stick with stock mirrors on the VFR... (OR maybe get GSXR or CBR ones with the signals... hmm....)

At least they don't look as dumb as the SV650n rectangle ones.

Fuck, that's like what's on my CB550 now. I meant the bar ends you've got on there. I've gotta find a replacement for the antennas on the CB550. Thinking bar end. It's NH, I only need one. Does MA actually require 2?

    Why not?

You'll need to spend some time to make the mirror fit... but you're looking at very little $ invested. Like OreoCookie said, he had Motrax for about $60/pair. My CRGS were $180/pair... got them here: http://www.bevelheaven.com/productinfo.html

You might wanna check out the Napoleons listed on there as well -- would look pretty cool on the CB!

For $37 + shipping, not too bad a deal! OTOH I can just grab some cheap no-name off fleabay for $20 while I'm ordering new bars as well. Hm...

.... Not a fan of all black though. The gold stalks say "hey, these aren't stock"

Option 1, closely followed by option 3.

At $150 cheaper, I'd def. go option 3 (even if I had a jobbie job!).

Hey, how come yer tail is still red?!

More important than mirrors is to banish all red paint from the bike. Yeah...

    Re: Decisions, decisions....

Dan, that's an old pic. The carbon booty is in full effect

btw, here's what Option 1 would look like on my bike as it sits with the red upper..... which may not last for long

And I also have a dark smoked double bubble.

And hopefully in the near future it'll look a lot more like this, minus all the yellow & red graphics

    Re: Decisions, decisions....

Aight... So I just found some money in my PayPal account that I didn't know about, so I finally got around to ordering the mirrors..... Except

I didn't go w/ any of the mirrors in the poll. Instead I got these

    Rizoma 'Elisse' Universal Mirror

Another uniquely distinctive mirror design from Rizoma. This one comes with a warm amber** tinted relective glass, just to be extra different from any other mirror out there. The Elisse mirror from Rizoma truly articulates why they are the leader is sportbike accessory design. Touch and feel these mirrors and you will be convinced.

Available in clear or bi-color (clear/black) anodized finish. These mirrors are sold individually and are not left to right interchangeable, so please specify which side you prefer. Mounting adapters are included to fit most bikes, including for the Ducati that uses left and right hand threaded bolts. Two spacers are included to vary mount height.

    * * The “Elisse” mirrors with an “amber” glass are antidazzle and particularly dark, thanks to their hydrophilic properties. In the course of time, in the atmosphere, the glass forms an even water film that improves its visibility. The functional hydrophilic layers are time resistant and light-activated.
