Novice group rider hops on a demo liter bike and rides it in middle group. Comes into ThompsonT1 probably faster than he ever did before, comes under friends bike, and uses my friends front tire as his marker taking friend out in the process. Friend goes down and separated shoulder. Demo rider high tails it out of there and doesn't even have the nerve to stop by and ask how the guy is. Some people are stupid, suck, and have no guts to at least apologize. I know it's a track related and an accident but have the balls to stop by and apologize.

I've stopped by if I came close to someone due to an error I made just to say sorry I didn't mean to run that close to you.
Penguin probably.
I always try to find the rider I may have slighted even if nothing really happened. I don't want anyone thinking poorly of me on the track.
First concern is how the downed rider is doing. Sucks to get hurt, sucks worse when you're an innocent victim.
I'm missing something. Did the demo rider go down too or did he cause someone else to crash without going down himself?
And of much lesser concern, who gets the bill for the demo bike?
Normal is an illusion, what is normal to the spider is chaos to the fly.
I thought I heard Eric say earlier in the year the demo rides are done in the novice group only. Not the intermediate group.

Thompson my bad. I thought demos were in novice also. Supposedly the demo rider didn't go down.
Another friend sent me an update.
Well that's how it suppose to be.. Whoever this guy was he was a novice rider on a ZX10 on the B group.. I cannot find this guy anywhere in the novice group. It's like he just showed used someone's leathers and jumped on demo bikes.. Totally the strangest thing I can think of.. No lead rider, no coach nothing just out there on a kawi 300 and then again when he crashed into Jim on the 2nd to the last session?

He was riding he ZX10 when he hit Jim...Here's a picture of him as he runs down the access road after knocking Jim off his bike.. This image is a actually video still I took on my big system... Quality sucks but it shows you who he is..

Pics to follow.
Just in case anybody is keeping score, this is not the first fucked up thing to happen at a track day, no matter whose brand.
Sucks your buddy was on the shitty end, but it happens. There will always be yahoos running amuck over their heads. And the staff can't police everybody all the time.
Again, bummer dude.

Agreed many riders are idiots and staff can't police everyone but the guy should have manned up.

Do you happen to have a timestamp on the video? I may be easier to track the offender and persecute them with that information.

830 mark and bam. Poor approach into T1

What! Poor approach into T1? Shame on that jamoke. Where's my torch and pitchfork?

I still don't get it, so I'll quit trolling and get to the point.
Exactly what was the point in this thread?
To point out the blatantly obvious fact that the gentleman fucked up and hit your buddy?
For us all to circle jerk about how we're all super considerate and conscientious and if we had caused the wreck would have most certainly gone found the downed rider and apologized?
Boobs are good?

I guess the point in this thread is:
Maybe not everyone should demo a liter bike. Though his poor approach into T1, going right to left, could be bad on any sized bike. The guy basically made no attempt to turn. Some people just don't have any clue on the correct line. And lastly he didn't give a care about knocking another rider over. Wonder if he even told the demo staff. Not looking for a circle jerk or even agreement on this issue and I apologize if this pointless thread offends you.
Let's all discuss rotella, syn vs dino, and what's the best tire. And of course Ginger vs Maryann

OK so liter bikes are a handful, some riders are sloppy, some people are dinks. Glad we've established that finally.

I think this serves as a reminder that everytime you throw your leg over the bike there is risk. Sometimes those risks are out of your control. Whatever group you're in, some of your fellow riders may be riding over their heads or otherwise do something unpredictable.

Not sure how badly your friends shoulder was separated, but I had surgery about this time last year to fix a separated shoulder. They put in a rope that has a titanium button on either end to take place for the ripped ligaments. I think if I was to do it again, or if I do it again on the other shoulder, I would let it heal on its own or use cadaver ligaments. My shoulder still gets pretty sore, and now when I carry material on that shoulder (construction worker) it rests right on the metal button that's on top of my collar bone. That part sucks. Anyway, good luck to your friend.
