So, I was watching Motorsport Mundial on Speed, this weekend and they had a feature on Irish Roadracing. I was so blown away by what theses guys were doing that I had to check it out more. Unbelievable stuff!!! I know you all know of the Isle of Man, but this is different. This is a sanctioned series that goes on for an entire season, not just a week.
*No Airfence
*No runoff
*Hard barriers such as stone walls, traffic markers and HOUSES!!!
*No big paychecks for the riders

Wasn't that the Northwest 200?
They also have the Ulster GP.

It may have been the Northwest 200. But, they run an entire series, on road courses. I guess they have a few tracks. But, even their tracks are not very modern.
Crazy Irish!!!!!

They are running a real road race in the town of Loudon on Friday of bike week. Just got permission from the town las week.
I believe it is going to be a vintage race at "exhibition" speeds, yeah right!!
derek
In case you are thinking of going, I think it's in Laconia, not Loudon. There was an issue with the sanctioning body trying to get enough liability insurance at a reasonable price, but I think they worked it out.Originally posted by Degsy

I wonder if a Hodaka Combat Wombat would qualify as a vintage racer ? Maybe I'll sign up...
Oh, sorry, I thought it was in the town of Loudon, my mistake.
