You're missing that the police are part if the equation and are more tip of the spear when it comes to the justice system. If the police are hamstrung and not allowed to do anything in the first place, or when they do, get cock blocked by the rest of the system it's all for naught. At that point it's more the system you make fun of libertarians for. All the laws and nothing done is the same as no laws at that point
Not going down your nitpick rabbit hole on this to keep you amused today.

You're painting with a broad brush but I'm not allowed to "nit pick" and ask for what exactly you mean in your examples.
It still sounds like a police problem and not a law problem. If the law can remain the same and the police can be given more reign which would cause an improvement with no changes to the law... the weak variable is the police and their enforcement powers, not the laws. To counter your point, you can have the "strongest law" in the world and if its not enforced by police and justice, it's the same as no law at that point.
I make fun of Libertarians for a whole slew of other things not really law policies, at least not on the public side but rather business and their ethics side.
Police being hamstrung or ineffective to begin with is an argument I'd back up. Whether that's a desired side affect in a "free" society or not is a different argument.

Providence Scooter crash settlement...
Providence to pay $11M in moped crash settlement
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime...nt/ar-AA1mSZON
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The family of the man critically injured in a 2020 officer-involved moped crash reached a $11 million settlement with the city of Providence, Target 12 has learned.
In November, the settlement between Jhamal Gonsalves and the city (and other officials named as defendants) was reached, then unanimously approved the following month by the City Council’s Committee on Claims and Pending Suits.
Details of the settlement had been kept under wraps until the documents were signed by all parties to the case.
Target 12 obtained a copy of the settlement Friday afternoon, which states the payments will be made in two equal installments of $5.5 million. The first payment needs to be made by Feb. 15, while the second must be paid out in full on or before July 31, 2025.
Jude Kerrison, an attorney for the Gonsalves family, told Target 12 that the money received in the settlement would be put into a trust and that Gonsalves would receive help managing it.
“It sounds like a very big number, and it is, but he’s going to need care for a very long time,” Kerrison said.

WTF?! Will be interesting to see how that lawsuit plays out.
I wonder if it was a full blown cruiser with lights or looked more like a regular car that cut him off. He seemed surprised by the car turning to block him.
If it's unmarked then the taxpayers are in for a quite a bill from a lawsuit.
We have a local college girl that is now in a coma because she got ran over by one of these bikes with guy running off

Atta boy from the cops doesn't mean much when they fail to police their own bad apples
I'd like to know more about the situation. If he's going there with lights blaring telling the guy to pull over then sure guy is a moron or if he was already running from the cops.
If he's unmarked and just cut him off with no warning then it's fucked up. I've seen plenty of footage of unmarked or off duty cops doing the wrong thing and trying to apprehend people without even identifying themselves and then blaming people for even questioning them.
Whether he's marked or not, forcing a head-on collision likely to kill or permanently injure the (dipshit) rider is a bad move.

at least the helmet was on his head, or it could have been manslaughter. I don't expect lights and a whistle to stop these idiots. if I were the judge, I'd give the cop a slap on the wrist.
To some people here the only "problem" is that the car doesn't have spikes on it to make shishkabob out of the "presumed innocent citizen" in order to save court time and money.
It's funny because they wouldn't be too happy if a cop decided to pull out of a U turn on a highway and make them crash on their bike if they were going 20+ mph over the speed limit and the cop decided that they are a danger to society and citizens around them for doing such.
I'm sure he fines, he's a NINJA, probably landed on a tree branch....![]()

You'd expect to blue flashes in the environment/etc if the lights were on, yet nada. Typically the dash cam overlay notes when lights are on... nada. Everyone he drove past up to that point were completely unfazed, no sense of urgency or even acknowledgement of the emergency vehicle with lights blazing...
