What I have.
04 600RR red Bull Under 6000 miles. No title and it is not stolen. I got it from someone and Honda would not release one to him. I have not looked into titling it seeing it is just my Instructor bike.
The bike has Woodcraft rearsets,Vesrah racing pads on the front and the Delkavic Red Bull fell set of plastics ($600). Oil changed 150 miles ago and Every 6th track day. Has Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa with 4 track days on em. It is currently set up for GP shifting but can be easily changed over to standard shifting with no modification.
The bike has been down minor on the both sides. Nothing is bent. The side covers are slightly scratched and the rear bobin on the right is broken off.

the 600 is supposed to be awesome on the track...granted I would think the USD's would feel better on the track..but hey, you could swap a set on.
track is about carrying your speed right? so the low end of the 929 might not be of interest to you.
I've owned both bikes, but never tracked either. For me the 929 is a better bike as I love the power and actually like the weight of the bike. the 600rr was a bit too cramped for me, but also a very fun bike. the 929 is very nimble once you're used to it, but the 6 is definitely much lighter and more flickable. . .
shit, keep the 6 and buy the 9, and switch between trackdays! lol. sorry.
I ride a custom fighter!
throw some suspension on the 929, raise the rear a touch, add a steering damper if it doesn't have one already.
I've wanted an 07 600RR for awhile now and after riding a couple friends at some track days a couple weeks ago, I REALLY want one now. so easy to go fast on them. I was less than 2 seconds off my personal best times on them after one session. So I guess I'd say try one out sometime and see if you like it better than the 6.

Gino, that 929 might be too much bike for you on the track.
My vote goes with the 929. My impression is that you've never been too crazy about the 600RR, so go with what you know you like.

If it is going to be an instructor bike you need to look at it from the student's point of view.
Redbull plastics = You retired from MotoGP because you were sick of winning.
Seriously though, as an instructor would the extra HP help get around people on big bikes in the limited passing zones? Or can you just cheat and get them on the breaks?
If you're cruising around instructing, wouldn't the more comfortable bike seem appealing?
Do you even bring the hawk to trackdays anymore?

You are comfortable on the 929 because you had one before.
If you want a comfy instructor bike get a Motard!![]()

YES and NO.
Yes I have one and tossed 30,000 miles on it. Yea, I kind of know it. and No the 600 is no where as comfortable as the 929 or other bikes that I have been on. The rear sets are making a compact bike eve more compact. I could use a little more room. Adjustble rearsets may be in the future if I keep the 6RR.
YOU have got to try a Stock Street Hawk. That is even more comfortable than a Motard. It even teaches you to be smooth and be very gingerly with inputs. Yo can not horse it around or the suspension lets you know. Basically you are riding on a spring with no compression or rebound.![]()
