Saw this question on another forum... not usually a fan of "if money was no object" questions, but I liked this one so I figured what the hell?
So... money is no object... and you could have a different bike for each of the following activities:
1. Commuting & long distances
2. Track day
3. Twisties
4. General riding
5. Panty dropping
What would ya go with?
For me I'm thinkin...
1. Commuting & long distances - The new Ducati Multistrada S
2. Track days - Honda RS250, Yamaha R1 or RSV4.
3. Twisties - Hopped up supertard
4. General riding - Aprilia Tuono (maybe the V4?)
5. Panty dropping - Bimota Tesi 3D

1. Commuting & long distances---hmmmm....HD Ultra Classic Screaming Eagle
2. Track day-----Erik Buell Racing 1190RS with all the carbon fiber goodies
3. Twisties----my BMW S1000RR (I like it THAT much!)
4. General riding----Ducati Mutistrada Touring
5. Panty dropping----Ducati Paningale 1199 S Tricolore
1. Commuting & long distances - I'm going to be odd man out here, I *LIKE* commuting on my CBR250R. Might as well be a scooter for as light as it is, just jump on and go, no effort required. I've done all day rides and it gets the job done admirably as well, but no luggage provisions means it's not doing long distance. For that I'd want my ST3 back I think.
2. Track day - I'm thinking TZR250
3. Twisties - Edit - CBR250RR - Dem things SCREAM
4. General riding - No such thing, I'm either commuting, TD, or bombing twisties.
5. Panty dropping - Not sure on this one. I'm leaning towards a Bimota DB7 but I'm not 100% locked in...

1. Commuting & long distances -- The Ducati M900 Monster I've already got, or if I ever need to replace it, a Ducati HyperMotard 1100S
2. Track day -- Ducati 998
3. Twisties -- Ducati 998
4. General riding -- see #1.
5. Panty dropping -- I think y'all missed the boat on this one; what good is a "panty-dropping" bike if you can't take her home on it? Plus, you're mostly listing bikes *you* lust after, not bikes that girls will. If all the panties you drop are from the guys at bike night, you may have aimed wrong. For this, I'd take a really nicely customized Harley Road King.
And, since I only used 3 bikes above, I'll make the other two:
6. Vintage -- a nicely set up Norton Commando 750
7. Just because -- Bimota Tesi 3D
PhilB

I'm with you on the scrambler though... in some messed up way.
My 'dream' list changes all the damned time. Especially after a day with you jokers.
1. Commuting & long distances - Wing

Damn, forgot the VFR. Good call. I guess that's my panty dropper?!?
1. Commuting & long distances - Multistrada Pikes Peakness
2. Track day - NSR500V. Really depends on the track, though. I would NOT want the 500 for Loudon. For Loudon a built 848 would be butterz.
3. Twisties - Tard. I want the sensation of speed, not speed itself.
4. General riding - Like riding a 4-star general around? Nut to butt?
5. Panty dropping - MV Agusta F4RR or Desmosedonkey
1. Commuting & long distances - Yamaha FJR1300, heat and communication
2. Track day - My 2009 R1, fully worked over
3. Twisties - MV Augusta F3
4. General riding - SBK Factory ZRX 1200
5. Panty dropping - NCR Macchia Nera or Ecosse The Heretic

2. Track day - R6
3. Twisties - Monster 1100 EVO
4. General riding - Monster 1100 EVO
5. Panty dropping - 1199 Panigale
In regards to being able to bring women home on the panty dropper...I didn't go with the Panigale R because it doesn't have a passenger seat. Yeah, the passenger seat on the Panigale is barely there, but that ensures you only bring home women who are worth bringing home. Hot chicks have petite and firm bodies that allows them to do just fine on even the smallest seats. Not only that, but if she's hot she's most likely vain and materialistic. A profile the Panigale fits like a glove.
Nothing says hot, materialistic, and vain like an italian race bike.
