I apologize in advance about my paranoia, but I figure better safe than sorry.
Carrying my helmet (Arai RX-Q) out today, it somehow slipped my hand, and landed about 2-3 feet onto my driveway. Helmet was in it's skimpy little bag, but still has some paint chips (3-4 1mm in size). Took the liner out and foam is still all black, which I was told means it hasn't been compressed at all.
Still good to use or should I perhaps think about buying a new one soon / end of this season? If it's still good to use, is it something that could be filled / hidden with a repaint (recommendation for someone as well)? Thanks.

depends how much it hurts your wallet to replace it. it probably should be replaced, but i wouldnt be afraid to run it in the meantime

you dont need to replace it. unless its some crazy high fall, there needs to be an opposing force to cause damage to the core, ie your head. the helmet is fine
I can't remember if there was a thread here, or on another forum, but 99% sure it's fine. Yes there has to be something in the inside.. the outside layer can chip and crack, the insides is the important thing. Heck, I think arai even has an answer on it on their website. I'm wrong.. just googled it, and went to the website. Although there were plenty of people said they contacted Arai and their marketing person said handlebar height or somewhere around there is no big deal. You can always send it in for free testing if you're that worried. Someone mentioned only once per helmet..
If you're really worried about it send it to arai, they will inspect it for you for free, you just have to pay shipping to and from. I've done it before, just get the phone number off their website and give them a call.
Bring it to your dealer. I've had MotoMarket inspect mine several times.

NO.....straight from an Arai Rep....if you’re really concerned you can send it to them and have it checked. But, unless the foam inside has not been compromised, weather it’s from impact, weather or time (that’s why LRRS required 5yrs) then NO.... Your just wasting $$$$$
