One of our very own, Gil Greenlaw, has been a corner marshall for the Isle of Man races.
Sobering fact - Part of the issued gear to corner workers are body bags. One of the last true road races left. Massive stainless steel balls needed to race there....

The amazing thing to me is that at these speeds, the slightest anomaly, mistake, hardware failure, and it's instant death. And yet, these guys are able to mentally surmount this possibility and still ride like they do. Un-fooking-real. I like the beginning of the vid, before any bike shows up....you can hear the birds...it's a nice bucolic setting out in the countryside...and then you hear the ungodly sound in the distance of these approaching beasts....pretty cool.
-Oh, I forgot to add, I charge double for Kawasaki's
