I've got a friend that wants to learn to ride. She's 4'5" tall. I can't think of a bike that will fit her, even lowered. Any ideas? How small are those RS125's in person?
She can ride me instead. I'm just the right size.

What's her age, weight and bra size?
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Ninja 250 lowerd???

I'll pass your offer along.
I'll mention those 2 to her. I know she wants a sportbike, but can't think of one that would work for her. I think she needs something pocked bike sized but built like Kurlon's A bike with gears, a clutch, and the ability to be registered as a motorcycle.
28, dunno, B or C.
Dunno if even that would be small enough. Isn't the bike more or less the same as the 500? No way she'd fit on my EX.
Thanks all.
Kymco just came out with a 150cc single sportbike looking thingy. Weight wise she would be ok but it would need to be lowered. Just a thought...

So they did. Seems like it might be a good solution for her, too. My concern would be lowering it, I know you can get lowering links for Ninjas and whatnot but since I'd never heard of Kymco until just now I'm not sure what would be available for parts. Food for thought though, thanks for the heads up.
Having owned both an Ex500 and (currently) an Ex250, I can tell you that the 250 is significantly lower, narrower, and lighter than the 500. My daughter (5-2"-ish) gets around quite easily on the 250, and is now asking me for a larger machine. (So soon!)
maybe something custom

anyone remember that asian chick at newbury street riding a gixxer 1000? she could barely reach the ground, and had to have help parking her bike.
when we went over and asked what she had she yelled, "no it's a wun tousand!"
Savage 650. My friends wife is 5' and this was about the only bike she could fit on comfortably..
Ot the Hyosung GV250 with a 27" seat height.

You jest, but that might be just the ticket. It'd be her first bike, something small, light and low would be key.
Thanks for the leads. Even @ 5' your friends wife has 7" on this girl, so I'm not sure, but it's a couple more for her to keep in mind anyway.
I'll never be willingly involved in getting one of my friends on a Harley.
My first bike was a honda Rebel, it was more than comfortable and manageable. I have a few inches on your friend but I was completely flat footed on the thing, she'd be able to ride it for sure. I think your friend is going to have to go the cruiser route for a bike that fits...most sportbikes sit higher.

Thanks jro. I'll mention it to her for sure. Thing is she wants to get involved in something competitive at some point, which kinda kills the cruiser route. It's my guess she'll end up racing pit bikes or something since she won't really fit on anything she could run @ Loudon, so the NSR actually seems like the winner at this point. Her call though, I'm going to have her read this whole thread.

It's a bit outdated but handy nonetheless. Unfortunately they stop counting below 5', 4'5" is tiny.
Nice find D.

get the ysr50 for her to learn then get her a step stool and an EX500 trackbike, launches might be awkward though...
