I am thinking about getting one myself..I just have to check on the height. Yes my legs are too short. It needs to have a little bit of play so I can lower it a few inches

Yeah I sat on one a few months ago and it was way too tall for me. I couldn't even touch the ground. I spoke with Mike at Naults and there is a little play with the suspenion and a few other things i can adjust so i just have to go up there and figure out the exact details of everything. If it all works out I just may have a new bike.

Hmmm wip around on yours huh??? Here is a picture of my bike..I love it. I think i might have a hard time letting it go. My bike now is lowered. It is about as low as it goes.

It always amazes me that 600s sell for $9,000 now. For an additional $700 (or less), a brand new 2003 GSXR-1000 could be bought.

Now, I am not a Suzuki fan, but for $700 more, $9500, the New Gixxer-1K sounds damnnn good. A few pounds less than the 600RR...40hp+ more...inverted forks...radial brakes etc.

Make mine a silver one please!

    CBR 600RR = $8,599
    GSXR 1000 = $10,499

That is hardly $700.... more like $2,000 (retail). And with my discount, we're talking close to $4,000 difference here

The Gixxer 1K is nice but I don't think it's the best overall bike available. There are many differences between these two bikes... one major being power.... and power isn't everything. The 600RR is within a second from 0-100mph and although the Gixxer 1K is very agile, the 600RR is modeled after one of the most advanced handling bikes ever to be designed (RC 211V). The 600RR serves its purpose and right now it's probably the most dominant bike in it's class. Many people forget that most of the tests/reviews you read are completely track oriented. When was the last time you raced on a track? The average consumer buys a bike to ride on the street. What does .5 second mean to them? Seriously, that .5 second of accleration on the street means CRAP!! Honda has consistantly made the most durable, dependable, comfortable, and the most overall balanced bikes for many years. I think one of the most advanced well balanced bike ever created was the Honda CBR 929RR. I mean, this bike was perfect for the street.... but the consumer demand more power and Honda was forced to create the 954 (which isn't much different than the 929).

I can't wait to see the CBR 1000RR. I wonder if Honda will keep to the roots of street w/ the track influence or just sell out and make it 100% track oriented. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

That's what they all say...till they ride a kwakker, then they wanna know "why doesn't my ass hurt". Easy, that's 'cause you're not getting screwed by Honda anymore.

Yes, the discount is very sweet for anyone looking at 600s!! Dealerships are cutting prices on 2003 Gixxer-1ks, $9,500 and less.

I'm a relative 'sport' riding noob and I find the gixxer 1k is more comfortable than the RR for me.. (5'10").. imo handles better.. and the power.. ooh.. that's where u've lost me.. Too fast for me.. too easy to lose control on the street which makes it less safe with me riding.. don't need wheels losing traction or contact with the ground because I hit a pot hole and got sloppy on the throttle.. And power wheelies are fun but... they'd get me into trouble too.

As far as durability, my RR broke down last week with 6k miles on it.. something wrong with the computer or one of the sensors.. can't wait to get it back..

I never had any problems with my suzuki..

Well, like I said.. every bike serves a purpose and NO bike takes a beating like a 900RR. NO one beats on a bike more than me. And NO bike is more comfortable than mine

I wish they could re-make the old Blade for me

What I want to know is how you fannangled (is that a word?) the $7K deal at Nault's. Is this for real?

How many bikes at this price do they have left, and when does the deal expire?

I was leaning towards a new twin, but at this price I could be easily swayed to the RR.

Hate to tell you this but the dealership up my way are letting Gixxer 1k's go for $8995.00

And from what I see on the track at Loudon, the 2 best Expert riders there, one on an RR, and the other on a gixxer 600, the gixxer eats the RR for lunch...
The RR needs a little help in the handling dept.
It's cool to hear the RR at 15,000 rpms running outta turn 6 up the hill, impressive overrun on the engine.

I would of thought so, with the added weight of the RR. A high-mount exhaust raises the center of gravity, not to mention the additional 20-30 pounds. However, the magazines all rate it #1 or #2, so it beats me. Myself, I tend to go by *the specs & price* more than anything else.

If I were in the market for a new 600, I would buy something different from the ordinary, maybe a Triumph Daytona.

Logically, it seems like dealerships in NH always have the best deals
