Not very long I'm afraid. I'd post pics of a local Multi 620, but that'd just hasten the onset.

That seems high, especially if it's stock. (And why are people selling these things sans bags?)

I was wondering the same thing...no bags. But I foound something that said they are optional

I am not finding much lower than $7500- 8000.

On another note. If you need a bike to run the rookie race I might be willing to let you ride my Hawk GT.

All STs in the US, save for the first year included bags in the crate as part of the base bike. (Yeah, they weren't mounted, but they were part of the cost when you bought the machine.) It's only outside the US that STs were sold with the bags being a non-included option.

    I put a deposit on the 2005 ST3.

It ended up having bags, they are just the wrong ones. (Multistrada) That was really the deal maker. I thought they were $1000 off what I wanted to give them because of the bags, when they said they have them It was a done deal. I will hopefully get them swapped.

    Alex? lil help?

Not really! But there are probably a few people here who won't be too shy about offering suggestions. Really though, are you using this for a Sport Tour/Commuter/Touring bike? I remember meeting you at NHIS and you don't seem too bulky! (compared to 'yours' truly'!) You may finde the stock suspension just fine!

Set the sag on the stock suspension and see how it handles before you look to upgrade. I think it's fairly competent assuming the spring rate is where you need it.

If you do need to improve things, the cheap option in the back is a replacement spring and hope you can get the damping you need from the Sach's rebound and compression adjustments.. The spendy option, Ohlins with hydraulic remote preload adjustment.

In front, springs and oil are the only adjustments beyond the external preload adjusters. You could get silly, and chuck in some new forks along with new clamps, or you can do as one person did, get some nice SBK forks, and swap the lowers and internals into the ST3's uppers. (There was a thread on ducati.ms covering the upgrade, I'll see if I can track it down again.)

    ST3 Suspension Upgrades - Forks - Ducati.ms - The Ultimate Ducati Forum

Found the ST3 suspension thread I was looking for. Should be a good read if you haven't found it already.

Haven't read it yet. I was wondering if my 900ss forks would be a direct swap? Gonna go read now.

The Ohlins rear will set you back around a $1000. They're rather proud of that shock!
