    MSF liscensing question

from what i experienced, you get your license mailed to you as soon as you complete the MSF & pass the MSF test. you do NOT have to have your permit for any length of time before taking the BRC.

if you're plannin on takin the MSF course, sign up NOW! they fill up fast

    ^^^ yup.

BUT, to get it mailed; you need to prepay over the phone (or in person) for the liscense.

    MSF liscensing question

Yeah, I got a letter from the registry saying that they couldn't give me my license for unspecified reasons after I passed the MSF and it was because I didn't prepay...Heh, come to think of it, I don't think I ever actually rode when I had my permit...

Not that it probably even applies but in CT you:

    a) take a 10 question test to get your permit

then after you take the BRC just goto DMV for your endorsement added to your license. Or don't take the BRC and do the riding test @ DMV.

    b) JUST take the BRC with no permit

then you go, pay the permit fee/take that written test you take for the permit anyways, then get your endorsement.

Just figure I'd add that in case any CT newbies were wondering

I belive the permit is valid for 2 years. I think it used to be 6 months, but it was changed recently, not sure when.

Definately pre-pay your M-class endorsement, I think its $30? And the permit was 15? I could have that backwards.

When you pass MSF (bring a copy of the permit and receipt for the pre-paid endorsement), you'll get it in the mail, usually in a week.
