Tarot T-2D Brushless Gimbal + GoPro HERO 3.
Tarot T-2D Brushless Gimbal: http://www.helipal.com/tarot-t-2d-br...ro-hero-3.html
For hobby and professional use, gives you perfectly leveled video footage at all time - Tarot GoPro HERO 3 Gimbal
This is a piece of high end camera equipement, driven by Brushless Motor to give you the fastest and smooothest respond, no matter how you move the drone, the camera will still give you perfectly leveled image! Using the latest 3-Axis Gyroscope technology, it picks up the sligtest movement on the drone and tell the brushless motor to compensate, the motion is seamless, like magic. The gimbal has a Pitch (Tilt) angle control, you can plug it into a empty slot on your RC transmitter or use another remote controller and ask another guy to take control of the Tilt angle, that will make the footage look good. This is Hollywood grade technology, but thanks to the enthusiasts now you get this technology at great value, make your own video like the one you saw on TV or in the movies! Get this, you will not regret it.![]()

Gyro cam footage looks so weird to me. I actually prefer tank mounted video for a better feel for how much the bike is leaning.
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
where the hell are you supposed to mount that big ass contraption.

I think this is a lot of effort to do the wrong thing. The whole point of bikes is leaning, why do you want to simulate a lame-ass car drive?
Next they will develop a leaning cam for nascars. No thanks.
how is this diy?
you're buying the whole thing minus camera for $200

mount each camera on the tail or tank facing forward and tell me which one gives you a better indication of lean angle. imagine if your eyes/brain didn't "gyro" the image, you'd have a hard time riding the bike with the world pitching to the side every time you leaned the bike.

It's funny that you mention that your brain corrects. I think that's why gyro cam footage throws me off. It might be closer to what's actually being perceived by my brain, but for some reason, it looks weird to me.

Actually a GYROSCOPIC camera shows the true lean angle as perceived through a video much better than a STATIC tank mounted camera.
The GYRO's ability to keep the horizon dead center as opposed to the tank mounted camera is much better at giving a depth to the footage. Sometimes users can mount the camera at awkward angles and it doesnt give the true perspective. The GYRO can show whatever lean angle on where its mounted. I like it much better than static view.
Side note - that thing looks BEAST to mount anywhere on a bike. Got to be an easier way.

Packaging is by far the biggest challenge for a motorcycle gyro cam.
I don't think there's any comparison. This is my $100 gyro cam rig. Whether you consider it worthwhile, YMMV. There is some drift, the next rev diminished it further.

Thats actually pretty impressive for $100, whats the rig?
I think it's my personal perception.

I personally perceive the bike's lean angle better on the fixed cam because of the horizon angle change, as opposed to the bike swooping at the bottom of the screen.

Blog.
I haven't done any more work on it after the first couple prototype housings. It wouldn't take too much effort to clean up the housing. The latest Dunehaven had less drift, but then he discontinued the product. I have two of them. They were about $70, combined the piezo gyro and servo.

I subscribe to the "keep it simple" outlook on these gizmos. IMO the gyro does not add enough value to the video to offset the cost or complexity.
For that kind of money, I'd rather add a 2nd camera to the bike.
YMMV, naturally.
BTW my original video now has over 9,000 views.

Got an email from Dareware today.
And don't watch this video (digitally stabilized) or you will be hearing "Dog named Dog" in your head all day.....SteadyRide - updates
Dear customer,
Unfortunately Dareware Labs has decided that the SteadyRide product will not to be launched. After much effort and hard work we had to make this decision. To develop new products is not an easy business specially when you are avoiding off-the-shelf tools and trying to implement your own original solutions. Due to technical complications in the Far-East and spiralling costs the product has become unattainable and far from commercially viable.
We apologise to all our followers as well as interested parties.
