07 gsxr-600 gets about 42, would be better but full Arrow exhaust, custom map, etc takes a little extra i would assume....

Agreed. My low fuel indicator usually kicks on around 100 miles to the tank after burning through a little less than 3 gallons. So, yea, I'd say in the 20's is an accurate figure. I don't get caught as much in heavy traffic as Matty does, so I might get a little bit better... but the new R1's are definitely hogs on gas, when you ride 'em like they're supposed to be ridden

Something isn't right. 10Rs and 1K GIXAHHHHHHHHHS are in the same power class and are mid 30 mpg bikes.

City riding, traffic, redlights and stop signs all drink gas., but 21 with a R1? I'm thinking some don't know how to calculate fuel mileage though, or they are just getting fucked at the gas pump and paying for 4 gallons and only getting 2 1/2? Or both?

Errr and if you go 100 miles and it takes 3 gallons, that's 33.33 mpg...that's just a bit off from the "20s is a accurate figure" Friggen R1 riders

I have yet to calculate mine but jnm988 and cheese can attest to the fact that it sucks.

    Re: EMM-PEE-GEE'S!!!

'08 Suzuki V-Strom 650 (stock intake/exhaust): about 55mpg on longer rides, less around town but I'm not sure what the figure is because the gas tank is too damn big to deplete it just riding around town. Mileage also goes down on long highway rides at 75-80mph (bike could stand taller gearing, or a 7th gear).

'01 Triumph Bonneville (modded with free-flowing exhaust and pod filters on the carbs): about 45-50mpg on longer rides, 30-35mpg around town.

'03 Honda XR650L (debaffled, desnorkeled, UNI air filter): about 40-45mpg on longer rides, 30-35mpg around town.

I could probably improve both the Triumph and the Honda a bit if I tweaked the carb jetting a little.

Last tank on the R1 was 44.4 160 miles before the fuel light came on. The one before that though, I may have to take back what i said about some the BSing R1 owners..I really didn't twist it all that much and I got 35, the worst one ever

My old 93 Ninja 600R would get around 55-60mpg at normal speeds and hit reserve between 190-200. It was great little sport bike.

690 SMC Best tank: 60mpg, worst tank 50. And believe me. it does make a difference to my monthly expenses. It's nice to have a bike that pays for itself in fuel savings...

SVs can be all over the place, lowest I ever got with mine was in the high 20's, but that was on the highway 75mph in -10 weather, most of the time I got in the low to mid 40s, best, over 60. SVs milage is mosly dependent on how much wind yer pushin and throttle position rather than rpm

smallish tank on the SV, 200mi range is not always doable, I averages 135-140 my VeeStrom gets consinstently 40-42mph and I have a 200 miles range cause its' got a more substantial 5.8gal tank
