Anyone have a solid connection or recommendation for a good local Yamaha dealer? Also I have no idea what a "Pro" dealer is, but apparently MOM's is one? Figured I'd put some feelers out as I know some on here have had relationships with various Yammie dealers in the past...
I've bought a lot of bikes from Razee's in North Kingstown, RI in the past and have always been happy. He'll make you work for a good price on a bike, but it's usually competitive give or take a little. I go there first and give them a shot, and usually know ahead of time what I want to pay. Usually I can call and make a deal over the phone, to save me a trip. Parts and service are also top notch.
I've also bought from Motorsports Nation in Plainfield Ct. It's a fast growing dealership with a very motivated owner, but he wants you there in person to make a deal or talk price. I honestly don't think there is a dealer in New England, that will cut you an awesome price first shot like this guy does....so low, there isn't much wiggle room after. I can't speak for service, but the parts department is pretty good.
What are you planning to buy?
Yamaha
I have a MOM's hookup as I worked there for a bit. I'll hook up if you want.

About the only dealership I don't mind dealing with is Freedom Cycle in Concord. Can't say enough about any of their departments. Yes, Yamaha (among others)...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?

Talk to Zev at Parkway, he's the sales manager and an ama/lrrs guy, he'll give you the best deal he can. Let him know Duncan sent you.

I've only been into Freedom for inspections and to talk with the parts guy a couple times, but I drool every time I even drive by that place. They've got a nice wide variety of makes, too.

I bought my SV at Freedom over the phone with a credit card in June of '99, but I have never been back cause they are inconvenient.
I had my SV serviced 100% (including 600 mile) at Rochester Motorsports, and they have given me 15% discount since day one as if I purchased my bike there.

Thanks, pretty excited!
Yes, for real. Now it's the waiting game, realistic delivery dates are in April of 2015, though in the past, that's usually a month late...so sometime in March.
I love my V4, really wish I could afford to keep it and get the R1. After the first year quirks, the Ape seemed to be pretty solid.
The R1M has some cool features, but for me the R1 will have way way more of everything than I can use, so I'll take the savings.
Yamaha
Yeah I'm eager to see the real-world differences between the two. I have a penchant for suspensions though and have been wanting to explore some of the later gen stuff that's electronically controlled. Plus, the liquid metal scheme is sexytimes.
another vote for razees .

Motorsports Nation in Plainfield CT (Plainfield, Connecticut, Suzuki, ATV, Motorcycle, Scooter, Dealer, Used, Parts, Accesssories, Apparel). They will beat or match any price, they deliver, they reg, they do everything; ask for Vern (Sales manager, great guy).
Just to share my experience. I have purchased three bikes from Vern at Motorsports Nation and they were all purchased over the phone. Deal over the phone, bike delievered same day, paperwork addressed upon delivery and done.
"Good prices" at Razees.....<eyebrow raised>
