Trading a bike between NH and MA?

Thinking of a trade with a guy in NH. I am in MA. We both have the titles. How does it work? Do you write a bill of sales? I know MA RMV doesn't really care what you bought it for. I am assuming I will have to pay taxes based on book value? Is it as simple as signing the titles over?

I guess a bill of sale is nice to have for your records/protection but the rmv doesn't want one if you have a signed over title.

Title should do it, bill of sale can't hurt. I always get a copy of the reg just in case, but you shouldn't need it w the title. Actually, get the bill of sale, sometimes MA doesn't have a value in their system and they may not know what to tax you on.
