    Tank Bag Recommendations

Looking for a tank bag for my Ninja 250. Doesn't need to hold a ton, perhaps just a bottle of water, pair of pants, and a few odds and ends. Would like it to have some kind of phone pouch with window to fit an iphone running a GPS app, and have some way to carry off the bike (backpack, shoulder bag, etc). I've heard a lot about the Rapid Transit Recon 19 and the Alpinestars Tech Aero Tank Bag looks good too. Haven't really been able to find any information or pictures on how they fit on the 250, or if they're too big / small for what I'm looking for. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

This is a Joe rocket bag I have on my GSXR. It has 3 compartments. Fits well and is not to big.

    Re: Tank Bag Recommendations

Coretech has a mini-magnetic or strap mountable bag that is pretty slick. It's listed at 90 bucks but I got mine for 70-75 at a dealership. It has a removable map pouch (which is clear, of course, and I have had a GPS in mine), some interior pockets and the bag itself is expandable. It works quite well for day trips, nalgene bottle, camera, some extra clothes and room left over for food, etc.

I'm pretty sure I still have the tank bag pictured below kicking around somewhere. If you have a use for it, you are welcome to take it. It is not in perfect condition but it is very much still intact. The only stipulation is that you make a small donation to the forum.

Sorry it took so long to respond, been busy riding. I appreciate the offer, but I rather let someone else grab it and enjoy it and find one that's exactly what I'm looking for. Think I may go with the Recon 19 and see how it works.

Recon 19 is a large bag - I found it too big and sold it.

Thats a lot more like what I was looking for. I'll happily take it off your hands for a donation to the forum and perhaps a few beers. I really appreciate the generous offer.

    Re: Tank Bag Recommendations

I have owned a bunch of tank bags. Originally, magnetic...but my last 3 bikes have had plastic tanks.

By far, the best bag I have ever owned is from Bags Connection / Twisted Throttle. Not sure if this comes in a model for your bike but do a little exploring. Several choices too...this looks like what you have in mind.

    Re: Tank Bag Recommendations

Still run a wolfman magnetic tankbag I purchased in 1998. It lasted all that time, well over 100,000 miles in all sorts of weather, and still functions perfectly. Even looks great except a little fading from being left on the bike in the sun. No ideas what they offer currently but it's quality stuff, or at least was in 1998.

PM me a time/date you want to pick it up. The bag is at my monster in-law's house right now but they're only a short ride from my shop in Malden.
