Fantasy Stable - Perfect Number and How to Fill It!

    So...
...you won the lottery. (A big one!)

All barriers have been removed...wife doesn't care, no limit on space, money is no object...

What is the ideal number of bikes...and how would YOU fill the slots.

(...one of everything might be amusing but not what I'm looking for, children...!!!)

    THE BATCAVE
    Track - Ducati 848 and Yamaha R1
Everyday, Round Town - Street Ride - HyperMotard
Sport Ride (Street Poseur) - Ducati 1098R
Sport Tour - Ducati Multistrada 1100S
    LuxeTour - Honda Goldwing
Dual Sport - One of the Beemers...not sure whether big one or smaller one.
    Cruiser - Harley Fat Boy
Dirt - Something. No experience here. But with the conditions specified I bet I could get some recommendations!
Vintage - (great add Johnny...) Norton 750 Commando OR Ducati 750SS Green Frame

Re: Fantasy Stable - Perfect Number and How to Fill It!

Wow I would have to "sample" many to get the right ones but basically I would have...

    Racebike (Twin)
    Trackday/sporty streetbike
    Stuntbike (Inline 4?)
    Playbike (pitbike racer or 3)
    Sport tour bike (V four?)
    Harley (just because)
    Motard/dual sport
    Dirtbike
and a really cool friggin moped.

Re: Fantasy Stable - Perfect Number and How to Fill It!

Track - dunno, I'm a street rider... maybe I'd just set up a hotrodded Triumph Thruxton for the track, or build a Manx Norton-style air-cooled sporting single
Everyday, Round Town - Street Ride - caféd Triumph Bonneville
Sport Ride (Street Poseur) - Ducati SportClassic 1000
    Casual Short/Medium-Distance Tour - '09 fuel-injected Triumph Bonneville
Light ADV Tour/Really Long-Distance Tour - Suzuki V-Strom 650, modded for comfort and so it's not quite so fugly
Serious ADV Tour - not sure, I'd probably custom-build something along the lines of this incredible repurposed SV650 (read about it here), with skid plate, luggage, and larger windscreen added:

Problem with a BMW GS, KTM Adventure, etc is that they all weigh far too much.
    Dual Sport - Husqvarna TE610, Yamaha TW200
    Cruiser - none, I don't like cruisers
Dirt - Dirt-only bikes are too limited, especially in Vermont, so I'd get something street-legal -- Husqvarna TE310 or plated KTM 450 EXC or something
Winter - Ural Gear-Up with engine work to make it reliable
Vintage - Vincent Black Shadow or Black Lightning, Manx Norton, Norton Commando (probably the Fastback)

Color me lucky, but I like my current stable quite perfectly.
    Street: KTM 690SMC
Track: Motard (though maybe Id make it green)
2004 ZX-6R (for the bigger tracks)
Then a dirty kind of toy and a sled for winter use.

Re: Fantasy Stable - Perfect Number and How to Fill It!

I'd buy some land with a house ( party house ) in remote area and built my own small track. Nothing too fancy, just pretty much paved track layout road in the middle of big grass field. Then buy a few bikes so my buddies and I could chill on weekends Oh, and also, I'd buy a few hot asian girls so they could take care of my guests

Edit: I think I need to learn how to play loterry ( never really played ) and go buy some tickets

Re: Fantasy Stable - Perfect Number and How to Fill It!

I am really trying to work on mine, but I work toward the ideal fantasy lineup that's in my head:

    Sport / Trackday...........Triumph Daytona 675
    HyperSport Touring........BMW K1200S
    ADV Riding....................BMW F800GS

    I'd love to add an:
    Supermoto....................Aprilia SXV 550 or KTM 690 SMC
Naked..........................Aprilia Tuono or Triumph Speed Triple or Duc Streetfighter
Retro...........................Triumph Thruxton or Ducati Sport Classic
    Dirt bike(plate)...............Honda CRF250X

I'd also like to make sure that I have all sorts of different engine configs: 1 inline 4, 1 triple, parallel twin, V Twins (air/liquid cooled), and a thumper.

If I could do it all over:
    Sport / Trackday..........Ducati 848
HyperSport Touring.......BMW K1200S (this barely stays)
ADV Riding.................. BMW F800GS (no regrets with this though)
    Supermoto...................KTM 690 SMC
    Naked.........................Triumph Speed Triple
    Retro..........................Ducati Sport Classic
    Dirt bike(plate).............Honda CRF250X

    I just noticed I need to work a V4 into that....Aprilia RSV4.

There is a guy down at the THe Snake (US 421 TN) that rides a Norton like that but green. He fuckin tears it up. It's kinda scary to watch with the skinny tires and all but it looks cool as hell.

I think this Norton is badass
