Didn't Josh record this and aren't those NESR member's voices on the video...
Pretty weird that it is on some random site with someone else's site name stuck onto the video, and is now being "discovered" by other people.
If it is the turn 2 at Loudon vid, Jon Gold recorded it. It ended up on "You Gotta see this!" on television. Can't remember who's voices are on it but I know I'm not one of them because I was on the track.

Does anyone know what happen to the rider and cornerworker? They weren't moving. I thought I saw one of the corner workers moving.
I don't know anything about racing and corner working, but that incident seemed like it could have been avoided.
Info on the incident and the cornerworker who got hit hard.

The first "stop the god damn race" is my Dad... the "holy shits!" that followed are myself and my wife Jen... the somewhat wimpy "stop the race!" is also me I forget who was saying the "red flag that red flag" but we were all there on an SRNE ride... The girl later asking Jon "you got that on film" is my wife again... ummm then the "why the hell didn't they red flag that right away" was my moms...
hey you asked!!!!
There were like 6 - 8 of us up in the bleachers... that was my first time ever at the track... my moms first and last time as well... she wouldn't even come up to see me race after seeing that![]()
That was rough to watch.

I remember that horible day at the track, I was down in Turn 3 watching the race when it happened. Unbelievable.. A horrible accident...
What exactly caused this rider to crash into eveything I do not know? The 2 corner workers were on the track, I don't think there was a third to continue pushing riders out ?Should have been...

I have always thought that it was a simple case of target fixation. unfortunate I was at the track that day too.

I think Tony described it best in the link posted above about the info, 5 riders coming out of the turn in a pack, the first four of the group saw the cornerworkers and pealed off with what little time they had to react, the fifth rider was blinded for a short time by the first four and didn't have time to act.Originally posted by Half Squid

You can say target fixation "could" have been a factor but i don't think it was, the rider simply didn't have the time to react given the order of events and the speeds they were going.
I remember watching the video on the view finder of Jon's video camera that day, not a pretty site to see

I'm impressed with how the lrrs community chipped in to help everyone injured. That's really cool.
I wonder why both CWs went to the bike? I think one could have retrieved the bike, and the other could have went up the track a bit to flag the racers.![]()
There wasn't a corner worker flagging and noone warning the bikes. The group came around the corner on the line, rick being the third in a group of three, the two in front of him split to go around the worker and the bike and when they did, that's when he could see them directly in front of him. No time to do anything. He grabbed a handfull of front break, so hard in fact that the calipers locked to the rotors and snapped right off the forks. He was not right for a few years and he's still not 100%. But when I saw him a few months ago he seemed a whole lot better., He's had some pretty bad crashes up there, after tthe last one in turn 99 he decided to switch back to MX, that's where he started on two wheels.

I was in the hospital when that incident happened. I had crashed earlier and broken my collarbone.
After seeing this... is it any wonder why I have a RED FLAG for ALL CRASHES at Track Days?
Some people complain because the rider is often up so quickly... and it takes a while to regroup everyone... but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
That is a very sobering video. I hope changes were made in the protocol for corner workers before they go running out on the track?

The other rider involved died last year (so I heard) after a crash on the street.
