Hooha! I just got back from the most incredible ride on my SMC. I ripped up the sweepers on MA 116. Plenty of power to squirt by cars between curves. Then I pointed it into the Berkshire woods and SHREDDED some beautiful dirt roads. I was lofting it over rises, through corners, leaning it over way farther than I thought possible on Pirelli Super Corsa street tires, drifting, etc. WOW!
Sounds like a blast!!!
Must....resist....motard...

I have had a Duke for 7 yrs and bought a Husky Sm this spring. I cannot belive these bikes are not more popular. They are great except on the Highway. Perfect for our New England beat up back roads
Your SMC must be geared differently and have 2x the HP than most motards. Most sportbikes can run alot higher speeds than a motard and accelerate much faster on a highway. No sportbike could hang with you how humble Paul. J WOOD rs 250?
i think he means ripping it on 116 up through conway (very technical/awesome) and then blasting around on the dirt...
hurray, strikethrough!

OK, I'd like to see anyone jump their R1 repeatedly on off camber, washed out dirt roads. Even if I lose, it will be fun to watch!
I wasn't trying to boast about my riding, dudes, just sayin that I can rip twisties, then bomb 2 track in the same ride... I'm 100 percent positive JWood could not do that on a 250GP bike!
I love how street riders take up a challenge though. Real safe...
The SMC is different from most motards in that it has a 6 speed and is geared for some highway use. I'm stoked about it. If you're not, don't piss on my thread!
I love my dual sport, granted it doesn;t have motard tires on it , but for the back roads around central mass it kicks ass, Leah and I went for a mixed surface ride today, riped up the twisties, even dirt road twisties and some trail, it keeps the ride interesting.
Back when I had my DR650 even with metzler karoos on it, I lead a ride from the bottom of the quabin back eastward, the group of sport bikes I was leading was skeptical about following a dr650 until we hit the back country tight twisties and they couldn't keep me in sight. The bike is lighter, more leverage from handlebars rather than clip ons.
If I could only have 1 bike it would be a big dual sport , 2 sets of wheels would be better but I could settle for street legal knobbies.

I hear ya on the sportbike Paul, I'm starting to feel it's a waist of money and time.
There's nothing as cool as ripping a twistie paved road, then hopping on the trails for a little fun in the rocks..all on the same bike
I rode 10 laps around my property today with my nephew...and man did I have some fun. I'm still amazed at how much grip Pilot powers have on wet roots, rocks and leaves.
