But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
G, keep in touch, let me know what you find.

I'll second www.svrider.com
Make sure your friend checks out the links page as there are a bunch of other SV sites.
I have a 2000 SV so if your friend has any questions, etc. he can fire away....I'd be happy to help out in his research.

there is a lot of SV expertise right here on NESR, ( I am not claiming to be an expert) prolly at much as there is on any other site.

Also looking to find one to buy. I figured that that the bike specific boards would be better for that..Originally posted by RandyO

ive got an 01 sv s, glad to give any advice I can. dont know any better or worse though, its my first bike, very happy, dont know what im missing over other bikes. if he does get an older one have him check out svridder.com, there is a section telling how to get some of the factory de-tunning out of the bike in second and third. this really works. if he cant find it pm me and i can check out what i did to mine again.
