I've taken my 750 k8 out a few times in 09 and it seems like if its been more then a week of me not riding it the rear goes flat. I have done a thorough inspection of the back tire (visual inspection/ slight over inflate and soapy water trick) and have come up with nothing. the bike isn't on stands and is moved at least once a week. also the tires are the origonals with less then 1200 on them. Is this normal? any ideas?
How is a leaky Bridgestone "gixxer related"?
Two demerits!
If the tire is not compromised, and the bead (where the tire meets the rim) is not leaking, then the valve stem is leaking. The valve core inside the stem is either faulty, or loose.

damn, demerits already...
put that there mainl to see if any other riders with similar bikes had similar problems, well if the valve stem is leaking ill see if I can take it to where I got it and have it fixed. would this be covered in the year warenty?
It had better be covered.
You could just try and tighten the valve stem yourself.
Burnouts will break the bead on a tire, so will wheelies. STOP trying to do them.

haha doc, no burnouts and no wheelies, scouts honor. the bike has seen one lowside at about 5mph at the end of the season due to probaly the first patch of ice in newengland. hopefully the dealer doesn't decide to blame the tire problem on that. Considering the barend and mirror were the only things scuffed. The human body is an excellent frame slider...
No, Suzuki will not pay for your leaking valve stem. Nor will any other manufacturer. Tire pressure and maintainence is your responsibility.
If you have a good relationship with the dealer, they may do it and not charge you. Bring them just the wheel, so they don't have to mess with the bike. If it takes them more than 5 minutes, expect a bill.

i've never had a tire loose air on ANY of my bikes... EVER.... including bicycles... even cars.... every tire i've ever owned has held pressure forever.
It's definitely gixxer related.

thanks for the advice, gonna recheck the tires with the soapy water, and as soon as the 15inchs of snow is gone up to manchester I go.
Russel Crowe wouldn't have to pay.
Go to a bicycle shop Get a shrader (sp) valve and remover looks like a valve stem cover with two teeth on the top (less then 2 bucks) stick in the valve and turn it like a screw it will screw out and the air will escape screw the new one in.
I will bill you

Dude, if you're considering going all the way to Manch for this, hit me up before you go.
I can save you all sorts of time as I have a Schrader tool and am in Hudson.
Make check payable to "Zip-Tie Alley Inc, C/O Black Squirrell".
Just write any number in the box and we'll fill in the appropriate amount of zeros.
But seriously, don't go all the way to Manch for this....unless you really feel the need to.
did you put winter air in or summer air?
